| Thirty golfers played this week. We played the back 9. The game played was a Stableford point team game. Each team consisted of 4 golfers, and the score of each golfer was counted. Players were arranged by their handicap index, and placed into 4 groups - A-B-C-D by the trusty computer. Each team had an A-B-C-D player based upon index. The two teams that had 3 golfers had a blind draw for the missing player. This was based upon which player was missing. One teams C player was not present and one team was missing a D player. Points were all positive scores, and were awarded as follows on each hole:
Net Bogey +1
Net Par +2
Net Birdie +3
Net Eagle +4
Net Double Eagle +5
Net par for the round would have been +72 for the team, or +18 per golfer. Par on each hole would have been +8 (for 4 net pars). Team scores ranged from +51 to +76.

Upcoming events:
September 17 at 5:00 p.m. Player of the year Shootout between the top 10 in points for the year. Everyone plays together. The player with the highest score on each hole drops out. Ties on each hole are determined by a chip or putt off. NOTE THE TIME CHANGE 5:00 P.M.
September 21 and 22 The DUFFERS INVITATIONAL CLASSIC at KOKOPELLI The D.I.C.K. This is a two day team and individual event. Prizes include closest to the pin on all par threes each day. Para-mutual betting is allowed on the teams and individuals. In the past we have only had betting on First Place teams and Individuals, but there are currently discussions about starting betting on the Little Dick. This is to be decided.
Individual skins are payed each day. Trophies and cash awards for the winning team, winning individual (the Big Dick), last place team, and last place individual (Little Dick).
For those of you that have not played in the D.I.C.K. asked anyone who has played in this tournament. It is the most fun tournament you can play at Kokopelli.
We all have Bill Wilson to thank for this tournament. It was his idea and his labor of love.
On Friday September 20 at 6:00 p.m. or so there is the pre-tournament drawing for the teams. Betting may commence immediately after the teams are established. We usually stay for supper and drinks after the selection. Wives are welcome for the Friday night festivities. This evening is not included in the price of the tournament.
September 28 Season ending 18 hole Yellow ball tournament. Three yellow balls are provided to each team, and 2 strokes are deducted from the team final score for each yellow ball returned. Lose all three and your team is eliminated.
Remember to sign up for next week thru the pro shop. The weather is great, the course is in fabulous condition and the kids are back in school. Come out and enjoy some golfing fun with your friends and fellow members.
For those who have not played at all this year or just a little, come out and give Men's League a chance. That way you can see if you like it and see if you want to play next year.
We the officers of the league President Ron Clark, Treasurer Brian Lewis and Secretary Ron Eckiss want to express our thanks and gratitude to all participants this year. We have taken a good first step this year in rebuilding men's league here at Kokopelli, and with all of your help and participation we can build on this for next year.
