| I've been goin to Rams football games for years. It's starting to get ridiculous the "cream puffs" we play year in and year out. I know, we play some Evansville teams, but that's only one. Yes, we'll probably win the sectional, but look who is in our sectional? If this makes everyone feel warm and fuzzy, then I'm glad for you. Worrying about whether Crawford County has a chance to beat us, is like wondering if McDonald's will have Big Macs on their menu tomorrow. Shizz, surely you can come up with better posts than that one. I wonder if we'll have popcorn at the concession stand at the next home game?

| First off I didn't know Collin Hanks and Jack Black had 5 other people in their Orange County Mafia lol Secondly like Terrell Owens once said when I'm at the games you better "get the popcorn ready" I wouldn't look to far ahead and say we will win Sectional Triton Central looks solid and you can never predict what the weather will be from Friday to Friday I was around when we were the cupcakes so I kinda take pride in whooping a team every once in awhile looks like this week will be another blowout win against Mitchell... just gives me a few weeks to build up for sectional lol

| Since Crawford is a conference team, we have no choice but to play them. Other than go out and schedule another game and cost ourselves the conference, which I highly doubt we ever do again. Never quite understood that move, but that's water under the bridge. As far as our non conference schedule, the part we can change, we play Corydon, Evansville, Salem and North Harrison. 2 of those 4 are normally quality opponents. I don't see much of an opportunity to improve the schedule. Its just a product of most of the local teams being really bad right now. As in most small schools, that cycle will change in time. I would just like to see us continue to work on different things against these lesser opponents. At least then, when we need to do them, we will have some game experience executing.

| Wow, if our schedule is the toughest it's been in years, we've really had some creampuffs. Paoli plays one of the weakest schedules in IHSAA football. Our schedule to date is rated at 244 toughest in the state. Wow, what an improvement. Don't assume I don't know what I'm talking about. I didn't come into town on a load of pumpkins. It's true we have to play our conference opponents, but don't get on here and gloat about how good we played when some of them couldn't beat the Sisters of Providence. The best we can hope for each year is maybe a sectional win. As long as we're all satisfied in beating up on these creampuffs, our competition down the road will be licking their chops. It's just the way it is. So before we start celebrating how great we played, just remember who we played.

| I never said our schedule was not weak. Only said there not much we can do about it. I don't imagine just any team would want to put us on their schedule based on our recent success. We both agree that we have to play our conference games and in recent history, Perry is the only team that has challenged us. That's not our scheduling departments fault. As I said earlier, the tide turns in small schools quite often. It will all balance out eventually. It's not been that long ago the we couldn't beat the Sisters you spoke of. Just play who is on our schedule and continue to work on things to prepare us for better competition. That's about all we can do at this point.

| I would agree that our strength of schedule this season hasn't been the strongest, however this isn't any fault of ours as a part of the PLAC. This has already been addressed, however I thought I would add just a few things to this discussion. Strictly going on the "creampuff" notion, this is what I have discovered: Brownstown Central, a perennial powerhouse for years in southern Indiana is ranked at this time #6 in 3A, sporting a season record of 7-0, but ironically their strength of schedule is only 309, which comes in 65 points lower than our "creampuff schedule" Churubusco and Shenandoah, both sporting identical 7-0 records and ranked this week at 6 and 7 respectively in 2A have strength of schedules of 254 and 298 and South Putnam, Eastern Hancock, Sheridan and Indy Lutheran are the only teams ranked in 1A who are either ranked or received votes this past week with a higher rated strength of schedule than the Rams. I do understand that the season has come with some easy games, however I think it should be pointed out that strength of schedule is just a one factor in a season. All the Rams can do is play the games they have, and prepare for them the best way possible. As for getting on here an talking about the way they play in those games, that is what this forum is for, to talk about Rams Football. Go Rams!

| We have 9 games on the schedule, 5 of which are conference games that we can't change. Take those games out of the equation. That leaves 4 games in which we have a little control over. Evansville Central is 5-2, Corydon is 5-2, Salem is 4-3 and will get better over the next couple of years, and North Harrison is 3-4. To me there is nothing easy about our non-conference schedule. They are all larger schools than us and outside of NH they all are perennially good football schools. So what are we complaining about again?

| Congratulations, our schedule of teams played to date is now at 270th in the State of Indiana. I'll tell you exactly what this means, it means we haven't been tested for the most part all season, guaranteeing us a winning record most years and little to determine how we would play against much tougher competition down the road. If we want our sights set on continuing our season after the sectional, our chances are pretty dim. I guess if we want to be happy with this kind of competition, then good for us. All I am saying is that this type of competition doesn't get us ready for what looms down the road. Nothing against our players, it's just the facts mam.

| Ok everyone. Time to quit the PLAC... too easy. Lets get these kids ready to travel at least 50-40 miles each road game. I'm sure that will be just fine with everyone, right?
8 years ago we were getting our butts handed to us each week and nothing was said about the PLAC and our schedule. Now that we are handing out ass whippings, it's too soft. Not sure if those who criticize realize how hard it is to schedule teams outside of our conference. Each team has to play every team in their conference during the season. It is touch enough as it is getting the non conference teams we do.
Some people are never happy.

| Ram: Sorry that you're upset over my comments. Let's see, I stated that we had no control over our conference schedule. I agree, we play in a cupcake conference, no respect. Secondly, just how difficult is it to schedule other non conference teams? The last time I checked, your not the AD and thus you and I have no idea about what goes into scheduling teams. Think before you make a comment like that. As far as being happy, I'm very happy. I guess that you're a mind reader now. Good luck with our future games. I'm sure Tri-Ton Central will be looking at us down the road. Our strength of schedule will tell the tale. I hope we have enough to prove that I am wrong. I'll be the first to eat some of that Orange County crow.

| Well I would like for us to play the top tier teams but you have to play who you can play and beat them like I've said before and others have said I remember 8-10 years ago we couldn't beat a decent team I always bring up in the eay 2000s how I remember playing Southridge one year in the regular season and then again Sectional and the game was a blowout they put their JV team in to start the 3rd quarter and they scored like 28 points on our varsity team even put their freshmen team in and scored anyway I guess we need to go call up Louisville St. X and Carmel maybe Indianapolis Cathedral see if they wanna play us instead of some big name high school football team across the USA lol

| you are right that I am not the AD, but I have spoken to the former AD many times, and it is very difficult to schedule non conference games simply because those other schools have to play all those conference games as well. For example, it would be more difficult for a conference like the Mid Southern conference to scheudule non conference games even more now because Silver Creek added football a few years ago.
True, I don't have impact on the schedules, but it was relayed to me a few years ago that it is very difficult to find teams to play in non conference play.
I am pretty sure if Coach B had his way, we would have a more difficult schedule, but we are very restricted by so many factors.

| Let's hope that Tri-Ton Central is looking forward to us, because that will mean that we are in the final game of the sectional. I am unable to locate last season SOS, but just a shot in the dark that Tri-Ton had a tougher SOS than what we did last season, and unless I'm mistaken we went to their place and beat them! SOS is a factor to be considered for sure as to down the road things, however it isn't the end all be all of the predictor. If this is the case then Brownstown 8-0 at this point in the season with a SOS of 303 is a sure loser in the first round of sectional when they take on Washington 0-8 at this point, but carrying a SOS of 181.
I do understand that we aren't in the strongest conference in the southern part of the state, but we must prepare for whoever it is that we play, and for the most part through more adversity than most teams are faced with, we have done that all season long. So I for one hope that we do get that chance at Tri-Ton Central, because that will mean we are once again competing for a sectional championship.

| Shizz: Relax man, you're getting way too excited about the comments I made. As far as the sectional, how much easier of a draw could we have gotten than the one we got. Look at who we have to struggle to play for the first two games? Wow, such tough competition. If we fail to make it to the championship game, I'll make my vows at St. Meinrad to become one of those silent monks. Let's all enjoy the popcorn and watch these first two tough games. This has to be one of the weakest schedules in the state. I'd be willing to bet that our AD and Coach B aren't too interested in trying to schedule any tougher competition. I mean, who wants to give up at least eight wins a year and pad your record.

| Other than our conference games, we play Evansville Central, Corydon, and Salem? What's the issue? Im pretty sure if it wasn't for coach B, we would never have Evansville on our schedule. Coach B does everything in his power to make the schedule as tough as he can. You have literally no idea what you're talking about. And you're crying because we got a good sectional draw? Are you a Paoli Football fan or are you just trolling?

| I totally understand what the dude is trying to say. Beating Crawford and Mitchell does little to nothing to prepare us for quality tournament competition. The issue is, there is nothing we can do about it so strengthening the schedule should not even be a topic of discussion. What should be discussed is how do we treat the games against inferior opponents in an effort to better ourselves. I have saw a few wrinkles the last few weeks, in my opinion, that's a good thing. Put the things that work in your back pocket and save them. At least then, if and when we are down to a good team in the tournament, we won't have to try things we have never done in real game situations. I have probably complained about our lack of offensive creativity an anyone, but I must say, I have been really impressed with the diversity recently. Not that my opinion matters, but this is a message board.

| Carl R No, I'm not a troll, and yes I am a fan and supporter of Rams football. Enuff said. I probably have more knowledge of what goes on in scheduling opponents that some people on this board. I have a background in sports management and understand fully what goes into scheduling opponents, i.e., travel expenses, reimbursments from opponents, how long the contract is, and is this opponent in our best interest to play. As far as Coach B., I have no idea of whether he has input or not, I can tell you that he reports to the Athletic Director, who is over all sports at our high school. The point I am trying to make, is that, if we ever have any aspirations of going maybe further than the sectionals, we need to have the experience of playing tougher teams. Playing the teams we play for the most part, do not challenge us and that's the point. So if your satisfied in having a glorious winning record each year because of the "easy" opponents we play, then good for you. Myself, let's see more tougher team play at Cook Field, and I'll shut up. I for one am glad I have brought this up, it's good to have good discussions and get everyones opinion.

| OCM... Which teams (outside of conference teams) are you complaining about? Our non-conference schedule is pretty tough! Evansville Central is 5-3 while playing a top 100 SOS. Corydon is having a little of a down year and they are still 6-2. Salem is getting better and they are 4-4. While NH by their standards is having a good year at 4-4. What more do you want?? Do you think we should be playing Center Grove, Cathedral, Ben Davis and so on... We have a great football PROGRAM, from youth football all the way through. Our Junior High and JV teams haven't lost a game this year. That success starts at the top. We have won at least 9 games for 5 straight years. Which is undoubtedly the best stretch this program has EVER had. I am all for discussion but at least do some research first before you start one!!

| Shizz, it's great to hear from you man. Alumni, when we play the jv and freshman teams of our conference opponents, what do you expect. We're gonna beat them just like we do their varsity teams. You don't have to do much research to figure that one out. Yes, I think we should schedule Warren Central and Center Grove, and while we're at it, why not Bloomington South. Of course we don't want to play those teams. Who says we have to play the non conference teams we do now, mix some things up and get challenged and see just how tough we can be. Again you people are taking this way too serious, I only bring this up because we get too complacent with our glorious record and unless you read into it, you know why we have this long stretch. I'm glad we win games, I'm just saying how good can we be playing these guys. Please, let's end this thread and move onto some other areas of common interest. I'll be polishing up my old Ram horn and be at the game this Friday night.
