| The Apponequet team was a PW level 1 team last year that came in 4th at Nationals last year. They hit all the level 2 skills (fake tic tocs, 1/4 turn cradles, stretches, etc.)
They're clean, but their routine is slow (slower than my style). They definitely have a different and unique style to them. I saw them at our fun comp earlier this month.
They came in 1st at Hockomock.

| I'm thinking Derby 1st, Billerica 2nd....or maybe even vice versa! I think it'll definitely be a fight for first between these two teams! Should be a nail-biter!

| I was at both ct comps. West haven was a close second to Derby! Super clean routine and awesome stunts! I wouldn't count them out of the game just yet! It all depends on what happens that day on the mat!

| I agree with cheer obsessed.. WestHaven had a level of difficulty i didnt see in the comparable teams. They have had plenty of time to perfect their imperfections. All teams have had a good amount of time to improve. It will be a competition worth watching, I'm just hoping i can make it that day...eeek

| Sara K - in your opinion what level of difficulty did you see in west Haven that you did not see in Derby or Billerica? This is going to be a tough division as there are 13 teams (before any invites) not sure if there were any

| Turns out there's going to be 18 teams in this div. That's a big comp. As far as level of difficulty i just felt some of their pyramids were a little more "involved" than the other teams. Keep in mind i was only able to watch their first local competition, a lot could have changed from all teams.

| CheerCharlie I have seen a lot of your posts. I know you are always commenting on Billerica and you also commented on Derby. Did you see these teams compete this year? I know Billerica has a great program and are always on top. I am curious for the, JM M L2, what you truly think and heard? I know its going to be exciting to see these teams. Its a large division.

| Ive seen the Billerica team this year at their Eastern Mass competition and I know the Derby coach and from their scores and what Ive seen Billerica do, I believe that these teams will place in top two...but you never know! Anything can happen on competition day!

| This was an AMAZING division!!! What a day! SO EXCITING!!!
First, Suzanne - your team did AMAZING! I'm glad that you qualified and were able to compete on Saturday. Your team gave a great performance and were, to me, definitely in the running.
Second, does anyone know why Apponequet repeated their performance? I didn't see anything wrong and I'm just curious.
Last, but by no means least, CONGRATULATIONS to Derby and Billerica!! Two amazing teams heading to Disney to represent the New England Region! You couldn't ask for two better teams, coaches or parents!!
Well done everyon in this division!

| Lissa B - THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It's so nice to hear such kind words! That was definitely by far the best performance my team has had all season! Thank you again!
As for Apponequet, my cheer coordinator asked the coach what happened. If I remember the details correctly it was because the arena was too noisy and either the girls didn't hear the "go" to start on time or the judges missed their routine starting and didn't see it from the beginning due to the noise. It was the judges' call to have them perform again.
And a super big congrats to Derby and Billerica. After reading this forum, I was excited to see both teams and they did NOT disappoint! Both were amazing and will be a great representation of this division in Disney. Best of luck to them and I hope to see them in the top 2 again there!!

| It had nothing to do with the judges. The arena was extremely loud when the squad took the mat. Being unable to hear the first word it impacted the start of their routine and left the squad upset. The right thing to do was to allow the squad perform again and the RCDC was in agreement.

| Thanks! Yeah, it was really loud in there and I can see how that can hurt the girls on the mat and their routine.
I'm glad they were able to come back and re-do their awesome performance!

| The issue that I have with them coming back out, though, is that the crowd wasn't any louder for them then they were for all the other teams, so what makes them special? People need to understand, that they were performing in a stadium of over 1000+ people, making it impossible to have quietness. Teams and coaches need to be aware of this and make sure that the tactic they are using to start the routine is loud enough for the girls to hear. If they fail to do so, it's on them and they should be judged accordingly. By giving them the chance to restart it was unfair to all the other teams throughout all divisions, all day, who had to deal with the same noisy crowd. If they could do it, then why couldn't Apponoquet?
