Well, it's that time of the year again. The weather warms up, the women wear less, and the boys of summer play ball and drink.

1. Cobras- Their spot to lose. My guess is they're going to lose it. Lost their ace to Richmond. Wild card: Borman

2. Angels- With mountains of experience, this seems to be a nice fit.

3. Lakers- Excellent regular season team. Seem to get burned out when it comes to the playoffs. Add a couple pitchers and this team wins the P-Nash/State.

4. PUB- Likes to hang around the top. Having trouble cracking into the top 3 over the past few years. Playoff tested team.

5. Patriots- Scrappy group that can get the job done. The team that always finds a way in the end.

6. Merchants- Can't get a good read on this legendary group. Thus, this why they are 6. They can beat anyone in the league.

7. River Rats- Can play very well or they can play very bad. Needs consistency.

8. Blue Sox- Team has made some serious strides over the past couple years. Team needs to show up to games in order to win.

9. Baseball 365- This is where the news guys hang out. Good luck this year.

1. Angels - Too much pitching to be ignored. The roster is growing old and it might soon catch up. Bounce back season and maybe the last for the aging veterans.
2. Cobras - I am not sure what Auggie Tech meant by losing there ace to Richmond? If this is the case they still were the best in the Park National hands down.
3. Lakers - Best team during the regular season but can not put it together come crunch. Youth and talented but does that hurt them?
4. Lyons Pub - Made state but still a shell of there former self. Can they return to dominance?Aging but veterans I compare to the SA Spurs.
5. Merchants - Not sure what to make of them like Auggie Tech said but they can be dangerous and a rebuilding team and usually have new guys the past couple years.
6. Patriots - The veteran consistent team had lots of turnover and new faces last year and still made state. I sense a bit of a down trend.
7. Rats - Another team that I don't know what to make of. A very inconsistent team that cam beat or lose to anyone. Do they have new pieces to take the next step?
8. 365 - Only know of a few players on this team so I will leave this as a guess. Usually new teams don't fair well in there first year.
9. Blue Sox. I have a sneaky feeling they might get out of the cellar this year. They continue to improve but still cant be taken seriously.

My Pre-Season rant... preseason ANYTHING is totally USELESS. WTF, preseason ALL-Conference or ALL-American,,, OK, so you had a good year last year and all the Seniors are gone this year,,, So give the guy mention for doing nothing yet this year, Assinine. Just call them "Guys to watch"
And the Rankings from Auggie above,, says his number 1 will lose it, so why did you rank them number one??? And your #5 ALWAYS finds a way in the end,, well shouldn't they be number 1?
And Ricky (Auggie Jr.) Vaughn, why didn't you just agree with Auggie, you said the same thing about every team. Except if you think Blue Sox will climb out of the cellar, then DON'T put them in it.
Don't waste your time ripping back on me, go play some catch instead and let's get this season started. These past two damn long winters are killing me.
Pete Rose belongs in the HOF!!!!!!!!

Cobras had an "ace" last year? News to me.

Pete Rose is an awesome gambler. Not a HOF'er.

Can't play catch outside in the rain so I'll rip you. Did you really start your PRESEASON rant by typing 'ANYTHING preseason is TOTALLY useless'? I stopped reading after that because ANYTHING you said in your PRESEASON rant was at that point deemed useless. Good work. I applaud your effort.

Actually, I don't think Mr. Rose was an awesome gambler, lost lots of money so had to sell his autograph to anyone and everyone, but he had enough balls to put his money behind his team. One Helluva Hitter though!!!!
This was NOT a pre-season rant, so I hope everyone found it worth reading.
Here's hoping there's dirt left in the infields around town.

Has anybody seen enough Class "A" ball to compile a list of the top teams in either the entire class or in their respective league?? Looks like the MBA doesn't have time for a Class "A" rankings.

I'll chime in for the P Nash

1. Lakers- A lot of everything. Should be a lock for the State Tourney.
2. Angels- A close second. Their pitching has been phenominal and there is no sign of that changing. When their bats come around they will be a championship contender.
3. Warriors- Proven to win some close games. Will they have the pitching to continue their dominance?
4. Cobras- If the Cobras faced the Warriors in the best of three it would be a hell of a best of three.
5. Patriots- tough early schedule. Starting to turn it around.
6. Baseball 365- Surprise team thus far. How long can they hold up with 1.5 pitchers?
7. Merchants- disappointing results with much higher expectations. Usually turn it around come July.
8. Rats- my team. We don't deserve any better until we win games.
9. Blue Sox- They have had many close games against good teams. Will they pick off a couple wins in July like last year? I would say it's likely.

Overall, from the teams we have played it is clear that the P Nash is the deepest league top to bottom by far. Do we have the "state" contenders like Tonka and Park? This year, I think the answer is yes.

Soon as this got posted the Lakers dropped 2 games in one night to the Rats and Blue Sox respectively.

PNash is pretty darn talented this year...it will come down to the end but the 3 teams going to state will for sure have a legit chance to win it all.

1.Lakers - They always seem to lose to bottom teams this time of the year. Best team on paper but have a tendency to fade come playoffs.
2. Lyons Pub - Pitching is average, but they find a way to win games. Veterans get it done.
3. Angels - Pitching has carried them and could in playoffs yet there hitting is below average. Two guys carry them offensively. Need to win low scoring games.
4. Cobras - Probably the best hitting line-up in the league yet pitching staff might not get it done in a long series and lack that ace like last season.
5. Patriots - After a tough start they are playing well. Lots of new players, still solid group.
6. 365 - Yes very surprising record for a new team in the league. Impressive squad yet pitching wont get them too far in crunch time.
7. Rats - Get a big win over Lakers and can beat anyone on any given night thus the parody of the Park National.
8. Merchants - Most dissapointing team thus far and pitching seems to be the worst in the league.
9. Blue Sox- Most improved team and have been in almost every game. Beat Lakers for second year in a row. The team that plays them no longer gets a lock to win the first playoff series. Sox have a pitcher to beat the top teams.

1-4 teams all pretty even
5-9 teams all pretty even

No question the Park National is the best league in Class A.
