I would like to run a preseason tourney for charity again this yr.

It is short notice. I would need to do it on April 13th.

Easter is the following weekend.

Different from years past, I am offering up a chance to contact me with your charity or family of choice to receive the proceeds.

I would like to pick 2 or 3 and split the money between them.

Please text me at 401-996-5498 to let me know that you would like to play, team name and contact info and if you have a charity or family of choice.

I would need to hear from teams no later than this friday so we know what we are up against.

It would be guaranteed 3 game minimum and cost between 150-200.

Please LMK if there is interest.

TY,

Tuck

I have contacted Tuck and discussed the potential charity being a childhood friend of mine that I lost contact with until recently finding a flier on my car after seeing an afternoon movie with my kids. The flier explained what Chiari Malformation was and told of a woman from Warwick named Ginger that needed help with her rent for her and her 3 kids for the next 6 months or so. I went home and logged in to check out the donation webpage and see if I could help. I logged in to find that it was one of my childhood friends and someone that grew up 500 feet away. I would like to ask the league teams to try and play in Tucks tournament. The money will be going to a great cause if this is the route tucker goes with the money. She is a great person and in a very bad position. She has 3 kids, a house that she rents, and TDI is running out soon. If there is any way you guys can just simply put your teams in this small act would really make Ginger's day better. If any of you would like to check out her webpage and donate directly you can at this link:
https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/3d14/ginger-s-survival-fund

So far it looks like there has been a pathetically low level of help for Ginger. Thank you all and let's continue our tradition of raising money for great causes.

I have contacted someone from each team with times of games.

Someone smarter than me will post the whole thing hopefully sometime tomorrow.

I split this into 3 brackets of 4 teams. I went by records from last yr to separate the teams.

All teams will play at 9 am using all 6 flds then dropping down to Hunters and PH 1 and 2 for the remainder of the day.

All teams please bring bases.

Rules are as follows

Coin flip decides home team for the day.

No run rule til the 5th inning. all teams bat 5 times, unless home team is up by more than 12.

5 hrs no progressive

1-1 count with a foul

no limit on pinch runners just be quick about it. Its the first tourney for most and nobody needs to get hurt. Don't abuse it.

A mat will be used by non utrip umpires, me,lol.

This is a charity tournament for a good cause and should be treated as such.

I am proud of this league always stepping up to help others and I want to thank you all for doing so again this yr.

I will provide a 30 rack for the winner of the three brackets on opening day.

Thanks again for your support.

Tuck

The Charity Game Schedule has been uploaded to the "Waiver Form" link to the left. Please view and print out as necessary. Also, the concession stand at Phillips Hill will be open. Please do your best to stop by and help support the stand.

Ravenwood is not available tomorrow due to a drainage issue with the field. That game has been relocated to Fish Hill.

It was a nice day for softball.

Congrats to Moulton and Wolfpack for winning their respective championships.

The snack shack did 500 in sales and we donated another 200 on top of that to the Coventry Girls League.

I wanted to thank all the teams that participated.

I also would like to thank the Girls League for donating the flds for use.

I would also like to thank the umpires Treavor Renaud, Bobby Lomba, Rob Barr, Lou Diamonte Tim Cress and Craig Andreozzi. Mike Cote, Neil Lesniak, Josh Dionne and Ryman. They all donated their time.

I would also like to thank Rob Cote for all his help.

Thank You to Aj Costa for donating the beer.

Lastly Googs for staying and cleaning up and doing the infield at Ph 1 and 2 at the end of the day.

We raised $2830. After the $200 to the Girls League the remaining $2630 will be split with a small portion going to March Of Dimes and A Wish Come True with the balance going to Ginger. She is the mother of 3 that needs a little help right now to get back on her feet.

This league continues to support causes that make a difference in people's lives and I am extremely proud that we as a league can give back.

Thanks,

Tuck

Very important

Chris Moulton's phone was taken from Phillips Hill yesterday.

Is anyone else missing a phone or find one and didn't know who to tell.

Please text me at 996-5498 if u have or know something about
It.

Googs and I cleaned up and know it definitely was not at field at the end of the day.

I hate to think someone stole it especially at a charity event.

Thx

Tuck

Just a follow up.

We donated 200 to girls league
100 to A Wish Come True
100 to March for Babies
And more importantly we were able to pay Gingers next 2 months rent.

She was very very thankful. She asked how she could ever repay the league and we asked her to just pay it forward.

Thanks again for your support. Good Luck to all the teams this yr.

Tuck
