| I just wanted to apologize to the Get Gnarly players. I knew when the playoff schedule was posted that you guys were not going to play and would be booted from the league.
However, the only reason why I did this was because I did not want Barry getting the "last word"
Barry was suppose to pay the $300 fundrasier money at the end of April. Through text messages and emails, he kept asking for another week, another 2 weeks, another week, etc. I finally told him that as long as he pays me before the playoffs, it would be acceptable. I just didn't want him screwing the league over by not paying.
The last week of the regular season, I approached Barry during the game - and he said he had the $300 in his car and would get it to me after the game. So I waited in the parking lot for him. He then stated he had to go the ATM to get the money and would be right back. Of course, he never came back. I texted him and email him but he never responded to anything.
Barry was probably feeling pretty good that he was able to play the whole regular season and not have to pay the fees.
However, there was no way he was getting the last laugh.
That's why I scheduled Get Gnarly for a 10am game at Sunset. So I could address Barry and then boot the whole team from the league.
Unfortunately, when speaking to the players on the team, they told me the Barry collected the money from the guys and apparently pocketed it.
I don't know what happened afterwards, but the players addressed Barry.
So I apologize to the players. As far as Barry goes, we can't make him pay the money, but congrats on pocketing $300 from your friends!
However, we have his name and address and he has been reported to ASA and will be banned from any ASA event in the future.
