| Holbrook 10's are the Mid Atlantic Region Champions with an amazing 10-9 win over a very tough Maryland team!! They will play for the Eastern Region Championship tomorrow at 11am versus the New England Region Champs from New Hampshire.
Holbrook scored 2 in the bottom of 1st to take a 2-0 lead, and then went ahead 4-0 after 2 and held it until the 4th inning when the Maryland bats got hot and scored 5 to go ahead, 5-4.
Holbrook tied the game at 5-5 in the 4th to set up a wild finish!!
Maryland scored 4 runs in the top of the 5th to take a 9-5 lead. Holbrook came storming back with 5 runs as they sent 10 batters to the plate and took a 10-9 lead!! But Maryland would not go down without a fight and loaded the bases with 1 out against Holbrook's third pitcher of the night, Chris Andrews.
Andrews was not fazed by the pressure as he got the second out on a called strike three!! Now, with the tying run at 3rd, and the Maryland batter who had beaten us in Game 2 with a 2 run homer at the plate, the game and Championship hinged on this one at bat. The count went to 3-2, 2 outs, bases loaded in a 1 run game, you couldn't ask for a more exciting scenario!! Andrews threw a letter high fastball, to a dead fastball hitter and the batter swung and missed for the strikeout as Holbrook held on for the win and the Championship!!
This team has now gone further than any team on a 46/60 field in the History of Holbrook LL!!
Tomorrow could be another step on that ladder!!
