| Dear Golfers, Planning is well under way for the Second Annual Scott Deware Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament. All proceeds will be donated to the Coventry Teachers’ Alliance Scholarship Fund. This scholarship program matches donations from the community and awards scholarships to graduating seniors from Coventry High School. The scholarships we are able to create through this golf tournament will be awarded to Coventry scholar athletes in Scott’s memory. Scott was a 1997 graduate of Coventry High School. He was a true scholar-athlete successful inhis studies and a gifted athlete. He was a valued and dedicated teammate, playing both basketball and volleyball for the high school. His love of all sports inspired him to study Physical Education at the University of Rhode Island. Before graduating from URI, he had an incredible opportunity to intern with his favorite football team: The New England Patriots. Playing, watching, and talking about sports was something Scott always enjoyed.Scott was suddenly taken from us in July 2014. He was an important person to so many: he wasa loving father, a beloved husband, a wonderful son, a caring brother, a special uncle and a loyal friend. Scott lived his life to the fullest. His laugh was so deep, joyful and infectious – it made you smile and laugh along with him. He is deeply missed by all who knew him. We all cherish our memories of him and carry them close to our hearts. Having this scholarship will help us honor Scott and remember how special he was. Our Tournament will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2016. Registration will begin at 12:00PM withlunch to follow at 12:30PM. Golfing will begin with a shotgun start at 1:00PM. | Nicely worded Big Man. This is becoming a must attend golf tourney...prizes are superior...and beyond all that...Scott was one of our own. A CMSL alum ...and , if possible, we should support this tourney in force. Mamba..out
