| Last night may have been the MLB Home Run Derby, but Holbrook & Jackson put on their own version for the second time in 4 days!!
The Holbrook Baseball 12's edged the Jackson LL 12's 12-10 last night at a packed house at Holbrook LL in Game 1 of the District 18 Championship Round. Game 2 for the Championship is tonight at 6:30 at Holbrook LL.
Jackson jumped on top 7-0 in the top 1st powered by a 3 run HomeRun off the bat of Nick Storaci. Holbrook answered with 4 runs in their half of the 1st on HomeRuns by Jayden Toucher & Gavin Bonitz. And the game was ON!!!
Jake Hickman kept Jackson within striking distance, but Jackson scored 3 more in the 3rd, to take a 10-5 lead. Holbrook scored 1 in the 2nd & 3 in the 3rd, including a BOMB from Mike Tamburino that may or may not have landed yet... But Jackson still had a 10-8 lead.
Holbrook took the lead for the first time in the game in the 5th on a Grand Slam HomeRun by Bonitz, his second of the game and 4 in 2 games vs Jackson!!
With 2 more innings for Jackson to bat, everyone knew this game was far from over. But Devin Foderaro threw scoreless 4th, 5th & 6th innings to get the win and force Game 2 tonight!!
Storaci, Matt Potok and Zach Rogacki all had 2 hits for Jackson. Dallas Weisse added a triple for Holbrook, in the game clearly determined by the Homeruns.
Tonight promises to be more of the same for this "WINNER TAKE ALL" game. Come out and see some great All-Star Baseball before watching the MLB All-Star game on TV.
Guarantee this one will be more fun!!
