Why is a pitcher not aloud to wear sunglasses? What if they are prescription & need them to see? Thanks!

The only reason I could see is if there is some sort of glare in the batter's eye from the sunglasses. It does not seem reasonable that there is a blanket ban on pitcher's wearing sunglasses. I admit I am not sure of the rule, but as a coach I would argue for a compelling reason to remove them.
