| "Ode to Carmalita" Today is May 18, 2025. About 30-years ago I met Carmalita by chance and my urge to be around her is un-ending. She had been courted by a field of players long before I came on the scene. Nonetheless, she is a vamp calling every red-blooded ball player to her bosom. I can't help but reflect on what a wonderful girl she has been to me and others. Besides her open fresh air approach and demeanor, she was also gracious enough to introduce me to all that were courting her as well. She was never biased and welcomed all. I know there are hundreds like me vying for a place with her and could not keep their hands or feet off her. She has accepted this activity for years and still does to this day. All or most of these competitors courting her became memories that will live with me long after my departure. She won't miss me, but I will certainly miss her. It was a sorry day for me when I was called out and had to leave but relish in the 30-years I enjoyed her company. My heart was heavy when I left her and the many friends I made, and I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge all the friends, scorekeepers, Umps and field maintenance personnel that I came to know and call friends. But I am especially going to miss my 30-year love of Carmalita.

| Well written. Many of us share the same attachments to this facility. I would like to share this with the County Parks & Rec folks who work these fields & schedule lighting & scheduling. They do a fantastic job while dodging hurricanes. Would you mind identifying yourself so we may thank you too? I have a hunch I already know who you are & Good on Ya' !
