| Oilers (3-3) vs Stars (4-2) Oilers lead season series 1-0
Veinot did indeed snap out of his early season slump with a goal and an assist in the first half of the first period, then something popped and now he is on the IL. LeBlanc and Sto each scored one for the Oilers with Bent and Webber adding assists. Sto was begging to come off the ice just before he scored the late game winner, you may not believe in yourself Sto but Corky and I do. Play of the game was Skiiny starfishing to get the puck out on the PK. Can the Oilers survive the next few weeks without their captain? Will a miraculous recovery the like which haven’t been seen since Paul Pierce left in a wheelchair happen this Friday? The whole league is on pins and needles waiting for Fridays injury report to come out. Well the pressure of the streak finally got to Havey. I remember the media attention Paul Molitor was getting back in 1987 when he was able to put a 39 game hitting streak together. He was the biggest story in sports and the media attention was non-stop. He finished 17 games away from the record. Havey already held the record and was putting it out of reach. I can’t imagine the media scrutiny he was under. Well it got to him and he hit the bottle before Friday’s game and the streak officially ends at 28. Burgess now has the longest current streak at 4, we will check back in at season’s end to see how the record pursuit is going. Rookie Gilbert stepped up for the Stars with 2 goals, one in regulation and a controversial one in the shootout. Murphy and Ryan each scored 1 and MacDonald had an assist. Why was Gilbert’s goal controversial you ask? JB was scheduled to shoot and left the game with 3:41 left on the clock, Gilbert replaced him and scored one of the nicest goals scored in the history of the HRHL. The Ratpack filed a complaint with the league and after checking the tapes it was clear the JB had not played a shift in the second period and was in no shape to continue on. Miracle of miracles however, he was spotted by Ratpack management wrestling Tony McNeil in the skybox at the Mooseheads game on Saturday along with the leagues director of discipling, something fishy is going on. This week the little guy steps up to fill in for Veinot.
Oilers 4 – Stars 2
Jets (2-2-2) vs Ratpack (1-4-1) Jets lead season series 1-0
MacIsaac led the way for the Jets with a goal and an assist. Pecarski Ross and MacEachern each scored one and lone assists went to Tracey, Tran and Turple. Pecarski’s goal was an absolute snipe, how does this guy not score 15 with a shot like that? He is also a beast to handle in front of the net and he goes there hard. Has anyone seen Peter Orser these days, only 2 games played? The Jets sit at an even .500, 2 wins, 2 losses and 2 ties. Plus 1 on the season. Only 2 points out of the league lead but not currently in a playoff position. Boys she is a tight race this year and every game is going to matter. The Rats were led by Flinn who had a regulation assist and a shootout goal. Captain Hill has 2 assists and a horrible giveaway. Easy to see the family wasn’t in the stands on Friday, Eddie shines when they are in the crowd. Munden and Parsons each scored one for the Rats. Back in 2015 these guys wet 1-2 in the draft, now they are the third and 6th leading scorers on their team, my how times have changed. Smart money say they finish 2/3 at worst, that Glazebrook kid looks like the real thing. Heggelin rounded out the Rats scoring with an assist. Pudge gets his name added to the 10 minute misconduct list. Claims he was innocent and sweet, just offered the ref some helpful hints and candy. Here is a crazy idea, don’t talk to the refs and you will never get suspended. There are a group of you that they don’t like. It isn’t because you are not likeable guys, it is because they are tired of hearing you tell them how shitty they are. Chappy is due to end his early season siesta any day now and should be back to solidify the Rats secondary scoring. Look for this team to jump back into the race, they need it this week because the Prodigy is away next week.
Ratpack 3 – Jets 2
Flames (4-2) vs Lions (4-2) Flames lead season series 1-0
Bray and Newcombe scored for the Flames and assists went to Ashley, Baxter and Manson. All the talk last week about the Flames sandbagging and how Manson will be a first round pick next year is wrong. How could Manson be a first rounder when Baxter is the leagues leading scorer. They will go Baxter 1, Manson 2 next season. Baxter wanted his own team because he felt his captains weren’t doing him justice by placing him on the second line. We all missed what he saw all along, put him in a first line situation, top PP and PK and he will shine. I wonder how many other guys are stuck on a second line who could be leading scorer candidates. I think those of you who are should text your captains and let them know what they are missing out on. The Lions are the hottest team in the league, 2 wins in a row and Burgess is the hottest scorer with back to back 2 goal 1 assist games. How did this guy fall to the second round? He might miss some games, know who else misses games, almost everyone. Huge face to face meeting this week of Baxter vs Burgess to see if either can take over sole possession of first in the scoring race. My guess is Bent gets more than them both combined and moves to solo top spot but these two can have a battle for second. Messervey continues his hot streak as well 1 goal 2 assists this week. Powell added two apples from the point single goals went to Billard and Myrick and helpers to d’Entremont and Flemming. Huge battle here for first place and Ritcey hasn’t even switched from golf mode to hockey, if that happens the Lions should take this one.
Lions 3 – Flames 2
10 Minute Misconduct Race:
1 – Veinot, Murphy, Messervey, Zwicker
Shootout Scoring Race:
1 – Messervey, Manson, Flinn, Ryan, Gilbert
Rookie Scoring Race:
11 – Manson 9 - Gilbert 7 – Iceton 4 – Newcombe 1 – Daly, O’Hearn
Goalie Scorig Race:
2 – Grease
Side Notes:
The Jays have got us all worried, last series they played in Seattle they swept, kinda need that again.
Are they any good teams in the NFL?
Baker Mayfield is the leading candidate for the MVP, 3 years ago the Browns traded him and Carolina waived him. Worked out great for those two franchises.
I don’t believe for 2 seconds Baker Mayfield is the best player in the NFL.
Kicked out of the rink at 1am Friday night, Heighton and I regularly stayed till 6am and never left before 3am, times are a changing.
Justin Trudeau is banging Katy Perry how does this nerd get women?
Dodgers are good.
MacKinnon and Necas, linemates, tied for first in NHL scoring.
Colorado is in first place.
My Islanders and Buffalo are fighting for Gavin McKenna. They play each other December 20th, any chance they are both winless by then?
Hartnett’s weekend didn’t go quite the way last weekend did, Jays lose 2, Skins err Commanders lose to the Shitty Bears. Lions came through though sometimes the only person you can count on is yourself Tim.
I have a buddy who has tickets to games 6 and 7 if the Jays can get it there.
Lane Hutson signs for 8 years 70.8 million. 55 Million in signing bonuses, the Habs found a tax loophole, look for every guy from the States to sign this way with Canadian teams from now on.
This deal will be a steal if he continues to improve but if he pulls a Darnell Nurse look out.
Titans fire their head coach after 6 games. Eddie Hill keeps Josh no matter what.
The Jets are 0-6 and Steelers are 4-1, not a Rodgers fan but some organizations ruin people, Steelers make them right again.
Fred Warner’s ankle goes in a direction it should not, 49ers having a rough go this year.
Went golfing yesterday, 20 degrees and beautiful, what weather. Maybe a little rain would be good though.
We are going to change the spares rule next year, it isn’t there to help teams win, it is to stop guys from dying from too much ice time.
4 weeks till Montreal, anyone know if there is anything to do there on an off night?
How is the Montreal casino, let me know?
Watching Task, worth a look.
Ed Gein, creepy dude, check it out too.
Stars have a team building exercise and take the entire team to the Mooseheads game in a box courtesy of Tony McNeil. Tony gives out I love you man hugs afterwards and 3 guys are now on the injury report.
Standings:
9 – Longo 8 – TimR, Sto 7 – MacQueen, PGuy, Chad, Skinny, AI Leon, Grayson, TimH, Ross, Croke 6 – Webs, Grease, Ted, Todd, Murphy 5 – Priest, Logan, Tony, Taiwan, Perry 4 – GHegs, Prodigy, Kerr, Dukey 3 – Goalie29

| The sea was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli. The score, 2-1 with a minute left, There’s a scramble in front. Glen, who played a fantastic game, makes save 1… save 2… save 3. Sadly, on the 4th attempt Bray buries it home: I was standing right there but due to contractual obligations I was not allowed to stop it. (Vote Bray 2028). The excitement in the crowd became palpable as the anticipation of a shootout mounted. But there was one man who had other plans…
It all seems like a dream now, but I’ll recount it best I can. The puck came to me at the point, my head up, chest out, my dick hard as Valyrian Steele. I look towards the net. I think to myself should I rip a 95MPH slap-shot towards the goal? No, they would expect that. I take two powerful strides to my right, changing the angle of my attack, jersey flapping in the wind. Clock ticking, my eyes focus in like Legolas in the battle of Helms deep. Time stood still and I plotted my trajectory. Numbers flash before my eyes, advanced mathematical calculations all in an instant. It just seems like there is no way to get this puck to the net!!! Then, a calm came over me, and I saw it. If I send this puck at 42MPH and 2.38 feet off the ice surface. It will hit the shaft of the defender’s stick, deflect at 38.7 degrees and enter the middle right quadrant of the net. But surely Grease will stop that right? No, you see, Grease has a mass of 90.18KG and is moving downwards at -9.8M/S with a maximum reaction time of 7.27 Milla-Hertz-Jules (don’t look that up), he won’t get there in time …. THIS WILL WORK!!!
I take the shoot and the puck sailed majestically into the net. The crowd erupts! The bench clears, my teammates hoist me on their shoulders and parade me around the rink Oilers win! Oilers win. Oilers win…
I guess some other boring stuff happened last week too. Havey doesn’t score…boring. Gilbert scores the 2nd nicest goal of the night in a shootout win for the stars…boring Oilers 5 Stars 0
Rick Flynn scored the 3rd nicest, however still boring, goal of the night in the shootout. Todd scores and is off to a hot start with 3 goals in 5 games for the Jets. I didn’t see his goal, but I’ll assume it was also boring. Jets 3 Ratpack 2
Billard claims to have scored the GWG for the Lions. A 40 year old defenseman, living on Vienna Street, scoring the game winning goal. Where have I heard this one before?
Flames lose a close one to the Oilers. The game was tied with 20 seconds left and I scored the game winner. If you want to hear more about the goal just text, call, email, fax, DM, check out my blog , visit www.Sto-Scores-A-Goal.com or stop by my house and I can provide you with any additional information you want on what happened.

| I took asking AI multiple different ways to finally get it to give a prediction for the games. Seemed easy the first time.
Based on the 2025/26 season standings and player stats, the Stars are slightly favored to win over the Oilers in their upcoming Halifax Recreational Hockey League matchup.
Here’s a breakdown of the data from both links:
Oilers Overview
• Record: 3 wins, 3 losses (6 points) • Goals For / Against: 19 GF, 21 GA — a negative goal differential • Top Scorer: Mike Bent with 7 goals and 5 assists (12 points) • Other contributors include Marc LeBlanc (5 goals), Ryan Veinot (6 points), and Chris Longaphy (4 points)
Stars Overview
• Record: 4 wins, 2 losses (8 points) • Goals For / Against: 21 GF, 20 GA — slightly better goal differential • Top Scorer: Ian Haverstock with 6 goals and 4 assists (10 points) • Supporting cast includes Pat Gilbert (9 points), Darren Iceton (7 points), and Tim Ryan (6 points)
Head-to-Head Prediction
• Standings Edge: Stars lead the Oilers by 2 points and have a better win ratio • Offensive Depth: Both teams have strong top scorers, but the Stars show more balanced secondary scoring • Defensive Concerns: Oilers have allowed more goals than they’ve scored, while Stars are nearly even
Final Call
The Stars have a slight statistical advantage heading into the game, with better standings, a tighter defense, and more consistent scoring across their lineup. If the Oilers want to pull off a win, they’ll need a standout performance from Mike Bent and tighter defensive play.
Stars win
Based on the latest standings and stats from the Halifax Recreational Hockey League, the Ratpack are favored to win over the Jets in their upcoming matchup.
Here’s how the two teams stack up:
Jets
• Record: 2 wins, 4 losses (4 points) • Goals For / Against: 17 GF, 24 GA — a negative goal differential of -7 • Top Scorers:• Matt Conrad with 6 goals and 2 assists • Chris Conrad with 4 goals and 2 assists • Mike Conrad with 3 goals and 2 assists
• The Jets rely heavily on the Conrad trio, which makes them dangerous but also predictable.
Ratpack
• Record: 4 wins, 2 losses (8 points) • Goals For / Against: 25 GF, 19 GA — a positive goal differential of +6 • Top Scorers:• Matt MacDonald with 6 goals and 4 assists • Mike MacDonald with 4 goals and 3 assists • Chris MacDonald with 3 goals and 3 assists
• The Ratpack have a deeper bench and more balanced scoring across their lineup.
Prediction
• Momentum: Ratpack are riding a stronger win record and better goal differential. • Depth: Ratpack’s scoring is spread across more players, making them harder to shut down. • Defense: Jets have allowed more goals than they’ve scored, which could be a liability.
Unless the Jets get a breakout performance from the Conrad line or tighten up defensively, the Ratpack are statistically better positioned to win.
Ratpack win
Based on the 2025/26 Halifax Recreational Hockey League standings and player stats, the Flames are slightly favored to win over the Lions in their upcoming matchup.
Here’s a breakdown of both teams using the latest data:
Flames
• Record: 4 wins, 2 losses (8 points) • Goals For / Against: 24 GF, 19 GA — +5 goal differential • Top Scorers:• Nick Baxter: 4 goals, 8 assists (12 points) • Gerard Bray: 6 goals, 5 assists (11 points) • Dan Fougere and Tristan Manson: each with 11 points
• Depth: Flames have four players with double-digit points, showing strong offensive depth.
Lions
• Record: 4 wins, 2 losses (8 points) • Goals For / Against: 18 GF, 17 GA — +1 goal differential • Top Scorers:• David Burgess: 7 goals, 5 assists (12 points) • Craig Messervey: 3 goals, 7 assists (10 points)
• Depth: Lions have fewer high scorers, and their overall goal production is lower than the Flames.
Head-to-Head Prediction
• Offensive Edge: Flames lead in total goals scored and have more players contributing at a high level. • Defensive Edge: Lions have allowed fewer goals, but only by a slim margin. • Momentum: Both teams are tied in points, but the Flames’ scoring depth gives them a tactical advantage.
Final Call
The Flames are slightly more likely to win, thanks to their stronger offensive lineup and better goal differential. The Lions could still pull off a win if their top scorers dominate and their defense holds firm.
Flames win

| Well the streak continues..57 games now. I just passed some good company. Joe Dimaggio has the record for consecutive games with a hit at 56. We've basically had the same impact on our sport.
Joined the Stars in the Molson box Saturday. Bob was not wrong. I could hear MVP chants while Bright was doing one handed push-ups on a beer can. Pretty impressive for a guy who leaves the game Friday injured. Bright seems like that kind of guy too eh? My former Peewee AAA coach would never do such a thing. His coaching partner maybe....but that's another story. Met Pat Gilbert for the first time. He said you look familiar..oh yeah you're the guy I turned into a pretzel a few weeks back...he wasn't wrong. Trade rumors were swirling after Tony knocked Timmy's Orange Creamsicle Vizzy over. Can confirm..the Vizzy was fine.
That Hutson contract is a steal now. It's gonna be robbery in a few years. Habs core locked up til 2031. They'll have a cup in that time. Leafs will not.
Anybody remember a time when the Armouries building by the Commons was NOT under construction? They've been fixing it up since I was like 6.
Almon street sucks. At least when they were doing road work during covid, we got to see video from Martys ring cam of people destroying their cars on that huge speed bump. Now it's just shit.
Saw a little story on Ken Dryden. What a stud. He played 8 seasons. Won 6 cups. And 5 Vezinas. Similar to the run Grease had a few years back.
I need a new show to watch. Any suggestions?
Jays bats woke up. Hitting dinger after dinger. Hope they can keep it going. Bieber looked good. Settled down after a that first inning.i hope Scherzer can turn the clock back tonight.
So what now? We just have to guess what spot we're ranked in the Lunns Mill power rankings?
I wonder if the HRHL moved up into the top 10 leagues in HRM yet. It's so even this year we gotta be at least 9th.
There was a menopause convention at work this week. No complaining or yelling at waiters whatsoever......
Games,
Stars vs Oilers Oilers lose their captain. Can they step up and win for him? Not this week Stars 4 Oilers 2
Jets vs Rats Will Eddie bring water bottles this week? Yes I think so. Will that help them win? Not this week. Jets 3 Rats 2
Lions vs Flames Will Lions keep the winning going? Pat stands tall again and Ritz gets 2. Lions 6 Flames 2

3. Ingraham (the goalie) makes 43 saves vs the vaunted flames offence . This guy was making saves he had no business making and not letting in the squeakers that coaches hate. It was fun while it lasted cause the stars are blasting his ass tonight but well done
2. Messervey, 1 goal and two assists in the red hot lions win last week. After getting moved to the top line this player has got his groove back like Stella. Once he avoids the misconducts he’s a force on the ice .
1.tie Gilbert and therakauf Gilbert was brilliant defensively , scored a goal thrn scored the goal in the shootout. Maybe the greatest shootout goal ever . A front runner for Roy, mvp, top d top notch guy
Dan, 38 saves including two in the shootout leading the stars to another victory . Dan missed a few early but is now ready to lead his team. An amazing performance last week earns him the prestigious honor of the weeks top star

| Good ol' Coach T Ryan: pumps up his fellas with lies and fake news about their abilities and they buy in every time. A great leader for sure.
Remember not to ask Parsehole his opinions about baseball. He is pretty good with hockey knowledge though.
Stars box party was a great time. Tony was host with the most and likely most drunk. I left before the downtown part but hope you fellas had fun!
I saw about one minute of the game.
Oilers facing adversity. It will only make the team stronger and when the triumphant return happens look out fellas!
Ingraham the goaler was fantastic last week.
I wonder why ladies always need to find trouble where there is none?
I had no idea that Sto could be so funny. Well done! Told my wife about his hero goal and she said" What is a Sto?" Bitch
Speaking of Sto, I think his endorsement deal with Kirkland ran out but if he keeps gettting clutch points they may renew.
The Rats are searching for answers. Played a great game the other day only to have the lowly Stars pull it out in a shootout.
Oilers win
Jets win
This comes down to who shows up.....Lions win? Flames win? ummmm
Flames win I guess.

| Stars/oilers ……2 teams missing a superstar forward to start the night. Missing venoit hurts the oilers a lot but missing Paul Poirier hurts the stars equally . Forward depth by the stars leads them to a 4-2 win over the orange guys . Iceton real deal bright and red hot Murphy score for the stars.
Rattraps/jets…… playing a hunch here, and I think the traps show some pride and rise up for a 2-1 win Desi and baseball prognosticator extraordinaire Macqueen do the scoring and Robinson plays the hero in nets .
Flames/lions….. 2 teams sitting in the penthouse here collide and it’s the flames who singe the lions paws in this one 3-2. A goalie battle is what we all expect and it definitely happens here. 25 year old rookie Newcombe scores 1 and future first rounder Baxter scores a pair in the win. A I predicts curl with two helpers , at least in got him right instead of the Conrad’s and MacDonalds
Busy week , wife away, working extra due to the short week and being a dad leaves zero time for anything else. Notes will be back next week

| Crazy week at work, so these Week 7 predictions are coming in hot.
Given it’s week seven, let’s look at various HRHL rosters and their number sevens. On to the games…
Oilers @ Stars
The early game brings the drama right away, with a surging Shiny Brights team, coming off a shootout victory over a dogged Pack of Rats last week, taking on an Oilers squad that scored a huge win, but suffered a massive roster loss (at least for a while) in the process.
Skinner’s Winners boast Mike Bent as their #7. He’s also tied for the league lead in goals, with 7 so far. The Oil also feature the ever-reliable Matty Giles, who sports #77 for the team.
The T & T Twinklers don’t have a #7 on their roster this year, BUT #17 Haverstock is the team’s leading scorer, with 10 points, and rookie phenom and Calder Trophy candidate Darren Iceton has 7 points so far this HRHL season.
This one will be determined by how well Skinner’s Winners perform in their Vein-NO era, as their team talisman and co-GM recovers from a tender groinal region. It says here they need a week or two to sort out what that looks like.
Stars 4 – Oilers 3
Jets @ RatPack
The sandwich skate features two clubs looking to help their playoff cases.
The Supersonics have no #7 on the team this year, but breakout scoring star Graeme Ross shares the league lead in goals so far this year with 7 tallies. Perry MacIsaac also sit second in team scoring for the Jets, with 7 points so far this year.
The RatPack’s #7 is none other than The Awesomeness himself, Mr Ryan “Shatkins” Parsons, has 5 points so far this year in a resurgent campaign. Beloved teammate, and fellow Blue Jays management afficionado, Darren “Rocket” MacQueen currently sits second in Truly Nolan team scoring with 7 points, while Glazebrook leads the squad in scoring so far, in no small part due to his 7 assists.
This should be a tight one at 9:00pm between two proud groups. The Trappy-Chappies scratch this one out, though.
RatPack 4 – Jets 3
Flames @ Lions
The west coaster this week features two of the league’s top clubs looking to stake a legitimate claim as league heavyweight.
Slick DF-Man Coombs sports the #7 jersey for the Flames this year, while rookie Newcombe wears #17. New co-GM Manson has seven assists this year so far as well.
Man-Bear Currie is filling out the #7 shirt for the Lions this year, while the HRHL’s most complete player, Burgess, is tied for the league lead with 7 goals and leads the team in scoring. Messervey is not far behind him, though, and has 7 assists so far this year.
I think this one is a classic that goes down to the wire, including extra time. Someone takes it in the shootout, I just don’t know who.
Flames 7 – Lions 7
The Lunn’s Mill Beer Co. Stewtenni-Ale HRHL POWER RANKINGS after WEEK 6.
6. Oilers (down, but not out, and facing a tough challenge with a key guy out) 5. RatPack (sticking to the plan hoping to scratch and claw their way into contention) 4. Jets (holding steady and poised to make a move) 3. Stars (basically tied for #2, and building a resume) 2. Lions (holding steady near the top and ready to pounce) 1. Flames (still on top, but barely)
