Flames (4-3) vs Ratpack (2-4-1) Ratpack lead season series 1-0

Fougere and Newcombe with a goal each led the way for the Flames who were not the same team without their captain Manson. Bray and the LeBlanc brothers each had an assist. Dewey replaced Grease in this one and was excited to back stop the leagues top scoring offence and the proceeded to score just 2 for him. Manson’s name wasn’t scratched from the game report so either the Flames were expecting him to show and he bailed or team management is trying to lower his PPG by keeping his name on the game sheet when he is absent. League actuaries are looking into this. The Ratpack were transformed back to 2002 when Tim Kerr dominated this league, he Hot Tub Time Machined his way to 2 goals and an assist. For those who don’t get that reference google Rob Corddry and Tim Kerr images. Pudge decided not to harass a referee this week and contributed with 3 assists instead. Munden and Hill each scored 1, Eddie did go bar down just to emphasize what he is capable of. McNeil, Flinn, Glazebrook and Cleveland all added solo helpers. Big game here with the Flames in the midst of their first 2 game losing streak and the Rats trying to continue their dig out of the basement. Both teams will be desperate but only one team will be without the Prodigy.

Flames 4 – Ratpack 3

Oilers (3-4) vs Lions (5-2) Lions lead season series 1-0

6-8 weeks with no Veinot could be a death knell for the Oilers. How will they respond? Bent did his part this week with 2 goals, apples went to Corkill and Redden. First game without their top draft pick didn’t go so well but Skinner gave a rousing speech from the heart afterwards and the Oil are set to fly. Everyone needs to step it up if the Oilers want to remain relevant, Skinny says we will, who are we to argue. Three games in a row now that Burgess has 2 goals and 1 assist. He is the leading scorer in the league and is tied in the Rocket Richard race. Burgess is also a force defensively that is what I would call a well rounded player. I thought this guy was supposed to miss half the games. So far zero missed and the Lions are tied for first on the strength of his start. Well not just him but he is the leader. Logan is having a great start to the season as well and Messervey is scoring like he never has before, 3 assists this week and he is the only player in the league with double digit helpers. Billard added a goal and an assist and Ritz had an apple to finish off the Lions scoring. Can the Oilers do their best Jets impersonation and become a shut down defensive team while their captain mends or do the Lions leaders continue to dominate?

Oilers 2 – Lions 1

Jets (2-3-2) vs Stars (5-2) Stars lead season series 1-0

Tracey scored the Jets lone goal with assists to Stoney and Proctor. So far the Jets experiment hasn’t gone as they had hoped. Their defensive prowess hasn’t been able to make up for the lack of scoring. Are you wondering if Turple has fallen off a bit with lower scoring numbers than last year? He sniped 4 goals in our Wednesday league this past week. Jets need to start feeding this guy and he will produce. Croke and Duke, you bought a Lamborghini and you are treating it like a Hyundai. WTF. The Stars showed they don’t need their top 2 draft picks to shine. McNeil turned set up guy with 3 helpers, Bright, Iceton and MacDonald all score while Holt and Gallant set them up. This is what good teams do, win when there leaders are not there. I mean scoring leaders, Tim Ryan will always be the leader of the Stars and he is currently the leader in this pool.

Stars 3 – Jets 2

10 Minute Misconduct Race:

1 – Veinot, Murphy, Messervey, Zwicker

Shootout Scoring Race:

1 – Messervey, Manson, Flinn, Ryan, Gilbert

Rookie Scoring Race:

11 – Manson
9 - Gilbert
8 – Iceton
5 – Newcombe
1 – Daly, O’Hearn

Goalie Scorig Race:

2 – Grease

Side Notes:

Is watching the Jays aging anyone else 10 years in 2 weeks, I swear to fuck I have five times as much gray hair as I did at the start of the playoffs.

Kind of a big game tonight.

Stewtennials vs Precision Concrete is what I am talking about, any other games going on?

7 million people marched in the No Kings protests in the US. I guess that means big cities will vote democrat, not sure how this changes anything.

The Colts and the Patriots are the top teams in the AFC, kinda feels like Brady and Manning all over again.

I don’t believe either team will make the Super Bowl for the AFC but what do I know.

I am not a Cowboys fan but they are going to put up points against anyone, may give up 45 to good teams but they will score.

Mahomes has a lot of weapons at WR all of a sudden.

Carolina are 5-0 to start the NHL season. How many Canes fans do you know.

Is Calgary tanking already to get McKenna? They should not be the last place team in the league.

Parsons is a Flames fan, a Dolphins fan and a Jays fan and the team he decided he couldn’t watch anymore due to shitty management was the Jays. Bad choice bud.

Eichel is the leagues leading scorer and with the cast they have I could see him keeping that spot all year. Quite the turn around from his end in Buffalo when they couldn’t agree to let him have the surgery he wanted. Well done Buffalo, that was wide right if I have ever seen wide right.

The Gaza cease fire didn’t work out so well. Stop bitching about Canada, you have no idea how great we all have it here.

Crown jewels were stolen from the Louvre in Paris, my money is on Brad Pitt and George Clooney as the culprits.

A South Korean teacher has been sentenced to life in prison for killing a student, exactly why I never became a teacher.

Ohtani has a night seems he sets some kind of record every game he plays.

Vladdy is having a better post season at the plate than Ohtani.

I really want the Jays to win tonight but I don’t see a way to take down the now completely rested and healthy Dodgers.

Jays defence has been fantastic most nights, those double plays saved the day last night.

World series starts Friday, I guess everyone will be rested, can Bo make it back, he could be the difference maker.

Teoscar is in the World Series, he plays against one of the teams he played for over the last few seasons. I wonder who he would rather play. He seemed to love it with the Jays.

Ugh, so much stress.

Standings:

10 – TimR
9 – Longo, MacQueen, PGuy, Chad, Leon, Grayson, TimH
8 – Sto, Ross, Croke, Webs, Murphy, Taiwan
7 – Skinny, Grease, Ted, Todd, Logan, Tony, Prodigy
6 – Priest, Perry, Ghegs, Kerr
5 – Dukey
3 - Glenn

Seriously I had to click buses and stop lights and bicycles 13 times to not be a robot. What a pain in th eass.

I changed it up again this week and just asked AI to predict all the games at once. This is what I got.

Predictions for the Halifax Recreational Hockey League (HRHL) games on October 24, 2025, suggest the Flames will defeat the Ratpack, and the Lions are favored over the Oilers based on early-season standings. The matchup between the Jets and Stars is considered too close to predict due to similar records and goal differentials.

Flames win
Lions win

Hey Bob. I do not here much about me looking like Rob Corddry. However, I do hear I look a lot like a young Brad Pitt.

Week Eight: The Ocho!

Eighth comment on the Week 8 post.

Let’s take a look at various eights associated with our teams at this point in the year. On to the games…

Flames (4-3-0)
vs
Ratpack (2-4-1)

The Trappy-Chappies lead this season series 1-0.

No #8 on the roster for the Pack, but Glazebrook does have 8 apples for the IceMice so far this season. Wily veteran Darren “Rocket” MacQueen was the team’s 8th round choice in the draft this year. Former Halifax Wanderers 50/50 winner Fougere was the 8th overall pick in this year’s HRHL draft AND sports the hallowed #8 for the RedHots this season. He also has 8 PIM thus far. Co-GM Baxter has 8 assists through seven games. As a team, the Flames have 8 points so far this season. Rookie Newcombe was the Flames’ 8th round pick this year at the draft.

The RatPack gnaw their way to another win in the early game.

RatPack 3 – Flames 2

Oilers (3-4-0)
vs
Lions (5-2-0)

The HartCats lead this particular season series 1-0.

Corkill wear the Oilers’ #8 silks this season, while defensive stalwart Mousek was their 8th selection in this year’s draft at Station Six. Offensive defenseman Matty D’Entremont was the Meowy Taianis 8th pick at the draft this year, while another blueline beauty with a non-stop motor, A-Train Taylor wear the #8 shirts for the club this year.

The Lions eat this week at the sandwich skate.

Lions 3 – Oilers 2

Jets (2-3-2)
vs
Stars (5-2-0)

Les Etoiles lead the season series between these two franchises 1-0 as of now.

Sugar Shane Tracey is flying around the ice in the Jets’ white #8 sweater this year. Legal eagle Brad Proctor was the 8th rounder for the Croke-a-Dukes at the draft. Rookie phenom Iceton has 8 points thus far for the Shiny Brights, while Real Deal McNeil is the proud owner of the Stars’ #8 jersey. Team owner Bright has the honour of being slotted in as his team’s 8th selection draft-wise.

Everyone knows stars shine brightest when it’s late.

Stars 3 – Jets 2

The Lunn’s Mill Beer Co. Stewtenni-Ale HRHL POWER RANKINGS after WEEK 6.

6. Oilers (L’il Skinner is hoping for a winner of a week, this week.)
5. Jets (This squadron is in a bit of a holding pattern.)
4. RatPack (Can these guys scratch and claw their way up the standings?)
3. Flames (Are they cooling off a bit or do they just need another spark?)
2. Stars (Shining brighter each week, this group of shooters.)
1. Lions (The new kings of the jungle continue their roaring start.)

Weekly 3 stars……..

3. Billard, last years rookie of the year scores 1 adds an assist in the lions thrilling comeback win over the flames. This guy buried the winner on a ripper from the point and also added several game saving defensive saves for his squad, solid night

2. Real deal MacNeil , still looking for that elusive first goal for the stars but says fuck it I’m more of a playmaker anyways. 3 assists, in on every goal in the short staffed stars win last week . This guy is working hard, crushing beers and helping the stars win week after week.

1. Kerr, 2 goals and one assist in the rattraps win last week rewinding his game 20 years. This was Kerrs best game in the modern era and the traps need scoring where ever they find it. This player stepped up and picked up the slack in a key win which moved his team into a tight playoff pic. Welcome back Kerr!!

Notes…….

-after ripping it up on the website since week 2 Sto pulls a Brandon little and folds like a fuckin tent in a tropical depression .

- someone forgot to tell the penguins that they suck. Sid and a bunch of jabronis in an early playoff spot. Crosby will go down as one of best leaders ever.

- NS announces a shit ton more immigrants coming
Nooooooooooo
wtf is wrong with them
We’re full here

- my wife was in Edmonton last week for work Tuesday to Friday. I got home from hockey Friday night and she’s wearing a French maid outfit. I peek by her and was pissed off. She never claimed one fuckin room.

- Dan is on fire for the stars. I butcher his name spelling though, lot of vowels

- no Havey
No Gilbert
No Poirier
No Ohearn
No problem stars just roll the oilers for a big win
A real team builder

- Holt is a big game hunter
A GWG late few weeks ago
A primary assist on GWG last week late in game.

- FBI arrests NBA coach Chauncey Billy’s on gambling, fixed poker games and dealing with the mob. This is a huge story, pretty interesting reading the details.

- Venoit out 6-8 weeks, tough blow for him and the oilers , get well soon bud

- trade rumours are swirling in the HRHL

- BKFC, hockey fights on ice in a 8 by 8 box. Crazy fights , KO”s brutal to be in
Worst one I seen was two chicks
What a brawl!!

- bent has a lethal release

- Burgess is on a mission, 2 goals and an assist like every game , guys on fire

- jays vs dodgers , reminds me of 92 when the Atlanta braves were the best team in baseball
Led by glavine smoltz and Maddox they were deemed unbeatable.
Fast forward 23 years the dodgers and that pitching staff are deemed unbeatable, go jays go!!!

I agreed to build my neighbour a shed, about half way through building it I realized… I don’t know how to build a shed. Only enough Brain cells up there to focus one 1 thing per week.

Rattraps/flames…….after a huge win last week the traps look to build some momentum but it’ll have to wait a week as the flames win this one 4-2. The line score a couple and AI curl score the other one. Soul mate grease makes 18 saves in the win .

Oilers//lions….. two teams having different results. After a devastating loss to the short staffed stars the oilers will begin a slump
Lions win 5-3
I’d assume burgess gets 2 goals and 1 assists
Mr set up messervey adds 1 Tianni with one and ritz with the other in the won

Stars/jets……. The team with the better offense always wins so stars 3-2 win.
Havey restarts the streak, Brad stays hot and real deal breaks in his new twig with a snipe, finally
Dan keeps rolling along with lights out play in the nets
