| Stars (7-3) vs Ratpack (4-5-1) Stars lead season series 2-0
MacDonald led the Stars with a goal and 2 assists and hurt the Stars by shooting his own guy right in the face. Gilbert becomes another statistic of guys who should have learned to wear a shield a week ago. 16 stitches and as of this writing still waiting for the swelling to go down enough to decide if teeth need to be pulled. Shout out to Doctor Powell for fixing another dummy, it might be time the HRHL seriously considers not charging Joel to play. Havey scores twice for the Stars but will lead a long contingent of players who will be in Moncton this upcoming week for the Monctonian. Iceton scored one for the Stars and single assists went to O’Hearn and Poirier. Parsons and the Prodigy led the Ratpack to a victory with 2 goals each, 2 helpers went to Flinn, Hill and States. Chappy scored his first of the season and lone apples to Cleveland and Glazebrook. To counterbalance Haverstock being out Glazebrook is missing for the Ratpack, same tourney different team. Both teams without their top scorers, could be a low scoring affair. Stars just won a few weeks ago without Havey, Rats lost the only game Glazebrook has missed, I guess that will be my deciding factor.
Stars 4 – Rats 3
Oilers (5-4-1) vs Flames (6-4) Season series tied 1-1
Rookie Daly has finally figured the league out, it took 2 complete rounds but his 2 goal 2 assist performance shows he can make a charge up the R.O.Y. leaderboard. Bent decided the Jets were overplaying him to shoot so he turned set up guy and had 4 assists this week. Corkill added 2 and 1 and LeBlanc followed up his league record 7 goal effort with a measly 2 goal night. 2 goals is OK for average guys but when you set a precedent of 7 it seems like you fell short with 2. Redden had 1 and 1 and single assists went to Sto, Skinny and Webber. The Oilers captain is getting close to a return, maybe not this week against the Flames who targeted him with a bounty last time they played to cause the injury but soon. No Oilers were able to spread good hockey gene seeds so no one is missing for the Monctonian. I know I left an entire team of great players in a dirty sock over the years. Bray and Baxter each had 1 and 1 to lead the Flames, Newcombe scored 1 and assists went to Ashley, Manson and big brother LeBlanc. Grease and Strong will be in the home of Angie’s Showcase Lounge this weekend for the Flames, look for Grease to be replaced by an upper echelon guy so the loss doesn’t hit as hard. Morry and LaPointe go head to head in this one as the only 2 skaters who have not registered a point yet this season, will one of them break through?
Oilers 5 – Flames 2
Lions (5-5) vs Jets (3-5-2) Lions lead season series 2-0
Big night for Matt Flemming as he leads the Lions with a goal and an assist and wins the 50/50 to take home $325. I am pretty sure this is the third time Parking Lot has won a 50/50 at our games, he also was part of a 50/50 win at the Mooseheads back in the day. Lucky fucker I guess. D’Entremont doubled his season output by putting up 2 assists and Ingraham scored the other Lions goal. Missing their top 2 scorers hurt the Lions and this week Burgess is off to the shenanigans in Moncton this weekend. Turple broke out this week with a goal and 2 assists to double his season’s point total. Itchy had 2 helpers, Ross and Tracey each scored 1 and single assists went to Croke and MacIsaac. Frustration is mounting with Jets management as Croke, upset at Skinner, decided to take it out on Webber’s stick. The circle of life I guess or more likely Croke knew if he retaliated on Skinny that he would face the wrath of Young Skin and no one wants that. A couple of questions loom over this game, does Dewey play for the Flames and have to face the Lions in the second game of a back to back? Does Perry make it back from the Blazers game in Windsor in time to play?
Jets 4 – Lions 2
10 Minute Misconduct Race:
1 – Veinot, Murphy, Messervey, Zwicker
Shootout Scoring Race:
1 – Messervey, Manson, Flinn, Ryan, Gilbert, Corkill, MacQueen, Hill
Rookie Scoring Race:
13 – Manson, Iceton 12 - Gilbert 6 – Newcombe 5 - Daly 2 – O’Hearn
Side Notes:
Two rounds down, starting to get a feel for what a tight race it will be this season.
How many guys will wear a shield after watching Gilbert take on to the face. Manson is considering it. Maybe we should grandfather a rule in that you have to wear at least a shield.
Trying to think of everyone who would be grandfathered in. I can think of Manson, Parsons, Turple, Hill, McNeil and myself right off the bat. What a bunch of dummies. Who needs eyes and teeth anyway.
Mousek and Itchy both wear them now, ask them if they should have earlier.
I really have no idea how many guys I may have missed who have kids in Moncton this weekend so don’t make your picks based on my knowledge.
Havey and Burgess could come back as their kids both play early Friday and not till noon on Saturday, is either of them a keener?
Tim Kerr has gone 3 for 3 the last two weeks in this pool, watch out leaders he has a read on the teams.
No Hartnett you can not have anything nice, 0 for 3 this week and your Lions lose. Just adds to the week of misery.
Leon should listen to his AI when it picks against his Flames.
Baseball is done so I shift focus to football and hockey, without sports life would be empty. How do people who don’t like sports even know when seasons change?
Bray doesn’t take slapshots anymore because he cares about hurting other players in the league. He is still tied for second in league scoring without an important club in his bag. Such a good dude.
That is the difference between Bray and I, it would be my proudest day if I could shoot hard enough to hurt someone, might start aiming for you guys.
As I write this it is pouring, we need about 2 weeks of this. Wells are still dry.
I love sports, I love gambling, the two are combining to cause a lot of headaches for most major leagues. Reminds me of when Parsons rigged the bag pool for his own team in the HRHL.
My memory is not great, may not have been Parsons but someone did it, Longo will remember who.
Priest beat me in this prediction pool in the only year I was even close to the top. I was such a dummy I rigged it against myself. Guys who run pools really shouldn’t partake in them as well.
I ain’t leaving.
This may be just a coincidence but 4 of our leagues top 5 scorers have last names that start with a B. Billard, Bachynski and Bright you need to pick it up.
Baverstock?
Don’t look now but Matty Robinson is leading the league in GAA for qualified tendies.
My Steelers are looking very good most weeks and with a 50 year old QB the future doesn’t look great either.
My Islanders on the other hand seem to have found their leader on D for the next 15 years.
On a personal note, if any of you are having struggles with mental health issues please know that there are lots of guys in this league you can chat with or ask for help from. Sometimes just getting through one more day can change your outlook, if you need something to look forward to this week I will come home with stories from Montreal that you will want to hear. Possibly the first time Skinner sees a naked woman since he wedding night. Who wouldn’t want to hear about that.
Standings:
15 – TimR, Bongo, Chad 14 – Sto. Murphy 13 – TimH, Leon, Webs, Taiwanz 12 – Grayson, Ross, Skinny, PGuy, GHegs, Kerr 11 – Croke, Grease, MacQueen, Tony, Todd 10 – Ted, Logan, Prodigy 9 – Perry, Priest, Dukey 5 - Glenn

| Weekly 3 stars …..
3. Parsons, scores two and set up about 2-4 quality chances that goalie saved. This Craig Button loving sum bitch has been doing it for so long we forget about his offensive prowess. He lead his team to a win to really tighten the standings, rattraps need his guy going to make noise.
2. MacDonald , scores 1 adds 2 assists including the game winner as the Stars dominate flames in the first place showdown . This guy was rescued from the jets after about 11 years so he’s earning his keep almost to his goal total from management. He would’ve been the first star if not for the unfortunate dump in turning Gilbert into an extra on the new Frankenstein movie from Guillermo del toro .
1. Daly, this new rookie scores 2 adds 2 assists including the oilers second consecutive win. With this guy now scoring the Venoit trade rumours are bubbling to the surface. I always say secondary scoring is a must and this fella banging a few home certainly helps the oilers in that regard . Congrats new guy, when you are the first star your team gives you a free beer card. You’re welcome my friend

| Notes……
- the leafs are a mess defensively, I guess Fraser minten and a first rounder for Carlo wasn’t a great trade.
- oilers win again minus their captain. These guys are buying in to whatever skinner is selling them .
- speaking of skinner , I wonder what parlours he and webs will visit?
-Matt Morgan , a yoga instructor did 7777 burpees in 12 hours a new record. 1 every 5 seconds . I’m good for about 12.
-watch Adam Scott’s golf swing, it’s a thing of beauty
- heads up guys, both my kids say if you drink white claw you are gay or a they them . Chad I know you are a fan. Truly or coldstream are acceptable I guess
- stars - flames has a playoff feel every time
- what’s with these broads n TikTok or Facebook reels giving fake blow and hand jobs??
The world’s fucked.
- live, lightning crashes came on for Q104 90”s at noon. A gem of a song Closing slow song at JJ”s Tons of girls felt Longo’s chubby rubbing their leg back in the day
- what’s up Bo Bichette, you staying?
- I’m voting Dan for some top goalie love. Playing awesome ever since Messervey set him up at a bar . Let’s goooooo

| Is it me, or is this year hard to predict week to week. Top group in the prediction pool has 15 right which is 50%.
Here are my predictions for the week using AI. For some reason AI is always week behind on the standings, but I like leaving it exactly how AI writes it up.
Prediction: Based on current standings, recent results, and player stats, the Stars, Flames, and Lions are the most likely winners in this week’s Halifax Recreational Hockey League matchups (Nov 14, 2025).
Upcoming Games (Nov 14, 2025)
• Stars vs Ratpack • Oilers vs Flames • Lions vs Jets leaguelineup...
Current Standings
• Stars: 6–3, 12 points, +4 goal differential • Flames: 6–3, 12 points, +7 goal differential • Lions: 5–4, 10 points, –8 goal differential • Oilers: 4–4–1, 9 points, +2 goal differential • Jets: 3–4–2, 8 points, –2 goal differential • Ratpack: 3–5–1, 7 points, –3 goal differential
Offensive Leaders
• Mike Bent (Oilers) – 25 points (11G, 14A) • Ian Haverstock (Stars) – 19 points (13G, 6A) • Gerard Bray (Flames) – 19 points (10G, 9A) • David Burgess (Lions) – 19 points (11G, 8A)
Matchup Analysis
• Stars vs Ratpack: Stars are tied for first and boast elite scoring from Ian Haverstock. Ratpack has struggled defensively (29 GA). Prediction: Stars win. • Oilers vs Flames: Flames are strong defensively (25 GA, best in league) and have Gerard Bray leading their attack. Oilers rely heavily on Mike Bent, but Flames’ balanced roster gives them the edge. Prediction: Flames win. • Lions vs Jets: Lions have a slightly better record and David Burgess as a top scorer. Jets are inconsistent but dangerous when Graeme Ross is hot. Still, Lions’ depth should prevail. Prediction: Lions win.
Summary
• Likely Winners (Nov 14, 2025): Stars, Flames, Lions • Key players to watch: Ian Haverstock (Stars), Gerard Bray (Flames), David Burgess (Lions). • Upset potential: Jets could surprise the Lions if Ross dominates offensively.

| I was unable to watch the other games last week, I had to get home to let the babysitter go home, so can’t comment on anything. But I will say this. My wife went out with her friends on Friday, she’s going to again this Friday. All I ask is to play hockey Monday, Wednesday, Friday nights and Thursday afternoons. Get a little drunk on Saturday’s and Watch 8 hours or so of uninterrupted football on Sunday’s. Tuesdays are wide open! Why don’t they go out then? I hear Tuesday is great downtown.

| Week 11:
Another wicked busy week at work so I am just getting my picks in. SMU hosts the Uteck Bowl for the first time in 15 years tomorrow at Huskies Stadium.
Early Game: Glazebrook and Havey both out for this one. Ratpack scratch and claw their way to a gritty win over the Stars. Pack win 3-1.
Sandwich Skate: Oilers and Flames go old school Smythe Division battling in this one. The Flames, minus Grease, do just enough to squeeze past a resurgent (but still Veinot-less) Big Orange. Flames win 3-1.
West Coaster: No Burgess for the Lions, but Hartnett puts the group on his back and leads them to a win over a tough Jets group. Lions win 3-1.
The Lunn’s Mill Beer Co. Stewtenni-Ale HRHL POWER RANKINGS going in to Week 11:
6. Jets 5. RatPack 4. Lions 3. Oilers 2. Stars 1. Flames

| Notes….. who da fook is in charge or these Lunn mills power rankings? How can the leagues number one juggernaut, the most electrifying team in the league not be ranked number 1? These rankings are crooked as a Colombian soccer official
Stars/mice……. Stars missing a couple guy means nothing , it’s next man up mentality which leads them to a 4-3 win over the traps Ryan wakes up scores a pair , real deal on a ripper and Larry ( it’s happening tonight bud) score the singles and Dan keeps he win in hand with 33 saves
Flames/oikers…….. this is a tricky one for me here. I think the two line flames will eke out a 3-2 win over the two line oilers . Second rounder Baxter scores two and new guy edgecomb scores the other. Logan will close the door with 41 saves
Jets /lions…….. no burgess means this one is a toss up. Jets need it more and Findlay steals the show on the jets 2-1 win. 45 saves and an assist, gotta think itchy and teddy (hall and Oates) bulge the twine in the west coaster

| Week 11 already Holy shit...
Streak is now at 61 games without a goal. Of course famously known as the Roger Maris home run record, before roids took over. That being said .. juiced baseballs, bats, and players was fun to watch.
I was losing by 13.8 points going into Monday vs Tedddy. I had Jordan Love and Packers D. Easy win. Wrong. We even use partial points and we still managed to tie. Unbelievable.
How the hell is the tush push still allowed? Not only do they line up off side , they run into the other team before the ball is even snapped . Man it's annoying.
Ran into Parsons in the parking lot last week. I can't remember the exact quote but but I think it was something like that he was the Wayne Gretzky of our league when he has the puck behind the net. Is he right?
After a few losses for the Lions my phone was blowing up with trade offers. Some big names being tossed around.
We should be paying Joel to play in the league. Hope Gilbert is alright. Will he have the cage on though? Or bubble? Or stay the same because chicks dig scars.
Canada should take Celebrini and Schaefer to the Olympics. And Suzuki of course.
Picks. We'll can't do worse than last week so..
Stars win Flames win Lions win.
