| Lions (5-6) vs Flames (7-4) Season series tied 1-1
Myrick scored the lone Lions goal, unassisted. It was a clapper rocket from 10 feet out to break the Jets shutout bid. Reminded me of Travis Saunders on a shoot out attempt. Not much scoring from the losing sides this week, Lee’s goal was it, both the other losses were shutouts. Good week for the winning tendies. Here is a weird stat, the top two goalies in GAA belong to the bottom two teams. Matt leads the way at 2.73 followed by Dewey at 2.90. Time for the offences to step up and help these guys out. The Flamers were led by Baxter with 2 and 2, Fougere with 3 apples and Manson with 1 and 1. Bray added 2 assists, Phil LeBlanc scored 1 and Curl had an apples. Biggest star for the Flames was fill in goalie Logan who notched the shutout. That gives Pat a 0.00 GAA for the Flames while carding a 4.09 in his regular role back stopping the Lions. Patty also has a 3.00 GAA for both the Jets and Oilers in a fill in role. Maybe being the only team to select forwards with their first 5 selections is coming back to bite the Lions. Maybe it is just Burgess missing for a couple of weeks, who knows? Can Logan shut down the team he just got a shut out for?
Flames 3 – Lions 1
Jets (4-5-2) vs Ratpack (4-6-1) Season series tied 1-1
Leon’s AI picked the Jets to lose last week but it did state that if Ross had a dominant offensive effort they could win. Well he did, 3 assists to lead the Jets to victory. Imagine how good that AI would be if it knew who was missing each week. Hype Train scored 2 goals, giving him a career high 4 before the mid point of the schedule. MacEachern and MacIsaac each had 1 and 1, Duke and Turple each had 2 helpers, Itchy and Proctor both scored once and lone assists went to Orser and Pecarski. The Ratpack scored none which means we had a shutout by Theuerkauf. This series is 1-1 with each team winning 4-1. The Ratfucks lost their game when 3 of their top guys were missing, looks like a full squad this week.
Ratpack 4 – Jets 1
Oilers (5-5-1) vs Stars (8-3) Season series tied 1-1
The Oilers were shutout by Logan as previously mentioned and the captain is still a few weeks and a couple of groin rubdowns away from returning. Can Skinner out coach the opposition? The Stars were missing two of their top guys but who cares, Ryan steps up with 2 goals and a helper to lead his team to victory. McNeil add an assist on all 3 goals, Gilbert returns in a bubble and scores the goal of the year and adds an assist. Larry is still absent from the goal scoring list but he does add an assist. Everyone is back for the Stars this week and they all let their feet off the gas peddle hoping for Havey to do it by himself.
Oilers 3 – Stars 2

Side Notes:
Shutouts are nice for teams and goalies, not so much for writeups.
Bad news for Habs fans, they are brutal, might have just been the two games I watched but there are a lot of flaws in that team.
Strippers are not as hot as I remember.

In Steelers news Rodgers hurt his wrist, Mason Rudolph to the rescue.
Rudolph may not be a top end QB but he did date Eugenie Bouchard for a couple of years so he will always have my admiration.
I wonder is he dumped her because she was switching from Tennis to Pickleball? Solid reason in my book.

Had a cysts removed Friday morning the size of a golf ball.
Took my shirt off climbed on the table and the Doctor came in with a Nurse and 2 female students that I was not told they would be there! Tried sucking in my gut but to late the needles started and the pulling from cutting the sack around the cysts got going quickly. The next thing I know the Doctor jumped and a giant load went on my face and all over everyone in the room and it hit the ceiling ffs!!
I know now how Ron Jermey felt like at an Orgy when everyone in the room took that load!! I behaved myself and asked oh “What was that” ? none of them had a Shield on and when I got up after it was stitched I could see spots all over their clothes!! lol
Doctor Said he never seen a cysts with that much power and liquid!
Big W last week for the jets and I am a healthy scratch this week but I might come and coach!!

3. Hype train, scores 2 in the jets big win last week. This guy has been a revelation playing forward for the jets . A converted defenceman now has 4 goals and is providing secondary scoring for the jets . If hype keeps this up his draft status will be rounds higher next year!!
2. Therakauf, Dan the man with a sparkling shutout win over the rattraps last week 29 saves, with the stars missing several keys players your goalie is super important. This player calms the stars down and his quiet play in net leads them to a victory. I wonder when the top goalie talk heats up for the stars tendy?
1. Baxter, 2 goals 2 assists for the future second round pick next season. This player was in on every goal in the flames 4-0 win. The center man on one of the top lines in the league scored more last week then he did all last year. Always a playmaker the goals are popping in this season. He’s using a put the puck by defenders move and it’s working.
This is his first first star award in his career so I know he’s honoured

- as patty gilbert and I hooked up on arguably the goal of the year last week, boys in the crowd were chanting MVP mvp . I appreciate that but I’m voting Gilbert to clean up at the awards ceremony. Could a defenceman win mvp two years in a row ?
- hockey Canada will not be able to leave bedard and celebrini off the Olympic team.

- two shutouts last week, Myrick’s spoiled a clean sweep
- Dan has been brilliant for the stars
- leafs are awful, time to blow it up trade Matthews and start over. Sad thing though they win 3 in a row they’re right in hunt for first place
- goaltending in general has been very good this year in the HRHL.
- alumni alert……. Heads up former goalie Bob strum is playing for team Canada in the world ball hockey tourney masters. First game is vs India. Not sure why but I couldn’t stop laughing at that. Strummer says they’re supposed to be good. I told him I was surprised they had enough to field a team as they’re all in Halifax

- Saskatchewan Rough riders win the grey cup. Seems odd it’s only their 5 title considering them and league have been around for like a hundred years.
- if we had a team I think I’d go watch, although I don’t really enjoy being cold anymore

Their team defence is awful. Nurse Bouchard and Wallman are turning the puck over constantly. Their most consistent dman has been Brett kulak, that’s not good
- this lions team seems to always need players
