| Oilers (7-5-1) vs Ratpack (5-7-1) Season series tied 1-1
We have to lead with Glenn registering a shut out, his first since Dec. 6th of last season. This guy is as reliable as can be, 1 shut out per season like clockwork. Glenn had 5 calls from work when he got back in the dressing room and had to skip free beer and pizza night, what a shame. LeBlanc led the Oilers with 3 goals and 3 assists. Up till this week he only had 2 assists, nice to see him share the wealth a little bit. Those 3 assists hurt his Cy Young chances but at 19-5 he is still the leader in the clubhouse. Bent had 3 goals and 2 assists, Veinot had 1 and 3. Imagine if Corkill could score how dangerous this line of 4 would be. Corky did manage 2 assists as did Mousek from the point. Webber added 1 to round out the Oilers scoring. Eddie goes to the wife’s Christmas party and the Rats fall to pieces. Hard to win without your glue. Hard to score without your anchor feeding the scorers. Tim Kerr has missed 3 of the last 4 games, he hasn’t missed 3 of 4 in 20 years. Here is hoping all is good and he is just enjoying being retired from team management and finding out there is something more out there on a Friday night than the HRHL. I think that is complete bullshit but some guys enjoy their lives away from the rink too I guess. Come back soon Tim.
Oilers 6 – Ratfinks 2
Lions (6-7) vs Stars (9-4) Stars lead season series 2-0
The Lions are our second team that was shut out last week so I have little to nothing to say about them. Burgess will be in lovely downtown Sydney for a tournament this Friday unless the coming snow halts all interprovincial travel so adjust your picks accordingly. The Stars kept their hold on first place with a big win led by Haverstock’s 2 goal performance. Gilbert had 1 and 1 but lost his rookie scoring lead. Holt had 2 assists, surpassing his point total from last season by 2 and it is just the midway point of the season. Stars management sent out a list at the start of the year that included how many goals were expected from every guy, Holt must have surpassed expectations already. Guys that outperform expectations are the reason the Stars are alone in first. MacDonald and McNeil each scored 1 and single assists were nabbed by Iceton, Murphy and Ryan. This time last season the Stars were atop the league standings with an 8-4-1 record and went 6-4-2 down the stretch to finish second. Can this year’s version be better?
Stars 7 – Lions 3
Flames (8-5) vs Jets (4-7-2) Flames lead season series 2-0
The Flames big 5 all had bog nights. Baxter led with a goal and 4 assists. 5 point night and he doesn’t gain a point in the battle for the Art Ross, tough one there. Manson had 1 and 3 to pass Gilbert in the rookie scoring race. Bray had 2 and 1, Fougere had 1 and 1 and Grease posted his first shut out, his first since February 9th of 2024. Phil had 2 apples, Newcombe scored 1 and Justin had 1 apple. The Flames have the best goal differential in the league at plus14and the fewest goals against. Those kind of numbers lead to great seasons. Ross scored the Jets only goal with assist from MacIsaac and Tracey. Sitting out of a playoff spot there are a bunch of teams trying to pry away talent from the Jets in a trade. The Jets have set the price for Turple at a top scoring forward, two first overall picks, two prospects and cash. My guess is no one pays the price and we sail past our December 30th trade deadline without any action once again.
Flames 3 – Jets 1
10 Minute Misconduct Race:
1 – Veinot, Murphy, Messervey, Zwicker
Shootout Scoring Race:
1 – Messervey, Manson, Flinn, Ryan, Gilbert, Corkill, MacQueen, Hill
Rookie Scoring Race:
19 – Manson 18 - Gilbert 14 – Iceton 8 – Newcombe 5 - Daly 2 – O’Hearn
Side Notes:
My mind wanders as I write this and people often call me out for what I wrote. 90 percent of the time I have no idea what they are talking about.
Jays get Cease, best pitcher available and a guy who could be a true ace. Jays pitching coach should fix the too many walks issue.
Holy Christmas crowds.
Christmas parties are hurting attendance, I wonder how the December 26th games will look.
Lane Kiffin is leaving Ole Miss to go to LSU, did anyone think he was staying?
My Steelers and Islanders are both struggling these past couple of weeks. Aargh, I love and hate sports.
Did I ever mention I despise snow.
25 games in and Colorado only have 1 regulation loss, not bad Nate.
Dallas is next with 5 regulation losses. Sucks to be the second best team but in the same division as the top team.
The top 4 scorers in the NHL are Canadian, the top defenceman is Canadian, the top 2 number 1 goalies Canadian. Bring on the Olympics.
The Bears and Patriots are the top seeds in their conferences, anyone think the Super Bowl will be a repeat of 1985?
Had the boys over for US Thanksgiving football, might be a country full of nutbags but they know how to have a holiday.
I don’t drink coffee so I never go to Tims, had someone bring me a bacon croissant this week, it was terrific. Why would I ever eat a McMuffin again?
Rookie Scoring Race is a battle.
I have a retirement seminar next Saturday, when I am done work someone needs to take over running this league. Any Takers?

| Generational Talent Franchise Goaltender Monster Dong These are just some of the descriptives Glen had to say about himself after his shoutout on Friday. He quite smoking and was sober, posting the shoutout. If he could find a cure for his masturbation addiction he might be starting for the Edmonton Oilers by Christmas. It’s not too often two guys on the same line get hattricks and you’re talking about the goalie but Bent and LeBlanc scoring goals is old news at this point. Corkill plays on that line too. Some guys were talking about the old team names. Panthers, Vikings… Ratpack changed their name from Wolfpack. I am surprised with the level of maturity of everyone in the league that we haven’t seen any teams like The 69 Boners, Fart Snadwiches, Moster Dongs or a French based franchise called “The Seals who are late” Oilers 5 The Seals who are late 0
Rumor has it the Lions have been on the phone with the Jets looking for a trade. They wouldn’t say who, but they said he was Tall, Strong, Allstar who can play both Forward and D. All signs point to Ted Percarski. But who would the Lions give up? Jets would want in return a strong two-way forward who can score. Scott Billard fits the bill. He’s a forward who’s always on the prowl…wait, what’s that you say? Billard plays D? Why the hell do I always see him floating and hanging out behind the other teams’ net then? There have been 5 shoutouts in the last 9 games. That’s an insane beer league stat! Stars are the only winning team from last week who didn’t post a shoutout. They allowed a respectable 1 goal, but 1 is not none. I was politely showing the Stars how excited I was to eat the last slice of pizza last week and frigging Chad snatched it right out of my hand. Stars 3 Lions 2
Bray, Baxter, Fougere each have more points at the halfway point, then they did all last year. One a far-right devoted Nova Scotia separatist, another a straight down the middle no BS Liberal, and the other a far-left card carrying communist. They put their political difference aside and somehow managed to gel together to form one of the league best lines. The world could learn a lot from these guys. Flames 3 Jets 2

| Weekly 3 stars……..
3. MacDonald, scores one , kills two penalties off and anchors the leagues best third line. This player is scoring timely goals for the stars and settling in nicely in his role. He’s almost surpassed his management given goal totals and keeps people honest with his effort. All he needed was stars management to rescue him and bring him home
2. Manson, 1 goal 3 assists in the Flames big win last week over the traps. This played turned down big money to stay with his flames teammates instead of going to fight Donald Brashear, shows he’s committed to the cauxe the flames are looking for. A strong contender for ROY, he’s helping the flames push the stars for top spot
1. Leblanc, 3 goals 3 assists in the oilers 7-0 win last week over the lions. This guy has 19 goals and I think he has them all in three games lolol. When venoit went down with injury this player and bent and longo formed a dynamic line and kept the oilers in the playoff hunt. He’s way ahead in Leblanc brothers scoring race and climbing the leagues scoring race rapidly. This is his second win this season, congrats Mark this will help your draft status next year

| Notes….
- Glen and shutout very seldom go in the same sentence together, but it happened last week, well done
- the Olympic ice hockey rink is a disaster!! Someone dummy fucked up so the rink is 4 feet smaller than NHL rinks. So Olympics are being played in the centennial arena size ice . Could be interesting
- speaking of Olympics, no way Canada doesn’t take celebrini and Bedard. Bedards shootout goal was second place to Gilbert’s shootout goal this season for the nicest one
- oilers are on fire, bent leads league in scoring Even Webbers happy, oilers are in a good spot
- hearing a ton of trade rumours floating around Couple blockbusters. Stars are not involved
- Winnipeg jets are in trouble without Hellybuck , can’t get a win
- Xmas lights are up and working Let’s gooooooo
- Leblanc buries another 3. Can this score score 30? It’s rare feat in this league
- HOW….we saw this hottie cheering on the stars last week. We were dummying the jets so we had time on our hands . We were trying to figure out who she was watching. Come to find out it was findlays wife. She was overheard saying fuck Dwayne that stars team dominated you guys. For this reason and her good looks , she’s this weeks hottie of the week
- tho goo dolls are coming to Halifax I still sing Iris all the time and my wife fuckin hates it. I may do this one at stars team party Karaoke
- thanks again to Alex for filling in for Dan last week. When you have the leagues best goalie tandem it sure helps.
- cold one tomorrow boys minus 25 with the wind chill Fuck I hate winter
- in bayers lake Chinese grocery story with the wife the other day. I’m telling you they don’t waste any part of an animal there. I’m curious what intestines taste like( not really) Some interesting meat choices How the fuck are you eating the snout? Hard looking
- leafs won a couple in a row, let the climb begin
- jays sign Ponce , hasn’t pitched in majors since 2021 where he was worst pitcher statistically in the league He dominated in Korea 17-1 so we’ll see what he got
- Kyle Tucker seen hanging around jays spring training facility in Dunedin. Hmmmmm
- 5-1 win last night for Lee and the boys in 45+ Turple scored a pair his 30th of season

| Oilers/Rattraps……. Oilers are charging hard and the traps aren’t so I’ll play the odds and give the oilers a 3-1 victory . Secondary scoring is key and it’s evident here as Skinner, Longo and Gilesy ado the scoring. Early game , Glen is brilliant and he visits his “friend” for some love after wards. A great night
Stars/lions…………ones hot, ones not so I’ll play the odds here in the stars 6-4 win over the lions. Secondary scoring again is evident as real deal with a hattrick all assisted by bright , Larry , Chad and Brad do the scoring and Dan is Rick solid as usual in the win
Jets/flames…….second vs not second so I’ll play the odds and give the flames a 3-0 victory. Flames have no secondary scoring so Dan bray and Baxter score and grease closes the door on 15 jets shots

| Week 14. We’re on the back half of the regular season…
Oilers (7-5-1) vs RatPack (5-7-1)
This season series is even-steven at 1-1.
This evening’s early game features a high-octane Oilers attack that has been firing on all cylinders lately vs a Rat Pack squad that has been solid but struggled a bit to score in bunches like their opponents. The Rink Rats flip the script as of right meow, though, and outscore the VeinBros.
RatPack 3 – Oilers 2
Lions (6-7-0) vs Stars (9-4-0)
Les Etoiles lead the season series 2-0.
The sandwich skate features a Stars group feeling pretty confident right about meow versus a Lions team that is trying to figure out its identity and claw its way into a firmer playoff position. It’s getting close to meow or never time for the HartCats.
Stars 3 – Lions 2
Flames (8-5-0) vs Jets (4-7-2)
The Flames lead this season series 2-0.
As of meow, the Turbo-Turples find themselves in 6th place, and in need of some wins to get back into playoff contention. The question is meow they will get that done. The Flames are pretty hot right meow, and it says here it’ll stay that way for the duration of the West-Coaster this week.
Flames 3 – Jets 2
This week’s Lunn’s Mill Beer Co. Stewtenni-Ale HRHL POWER RANKINGS going in to Week 14 have shuffled a bit:
6. Jets 5. Lions 4. Rat Pack 3. Stars 2. Flames 1. Oilers
