Tough week for a writeup as you all know we were rained/winded out last week. I waited at the rink till 8 when the final call was made. I would like to thank all 13 of you who contacted me to let me know the power was out at Centennial. Stu called me just as it went out so I already knew but I do appreciate the heads up. Battle here is for second place, Stars could tie for first with a win for at least 2 hours. Has Havey recovered from his car wreckage issues? Is Gilbert allowed out on Boxing Day? Oilers will all be there.
Oilers 4 – Stars 2
Jets (5-8-2) vs Ratpack (6-8-1) Ratpack lead season series 2-1
Well we didn’t get to see the match up of traded players last week but Messervey would have missed anyway. Rats are the first team the new and hopefully improved Jets have to leapfrog to get into a playoff spot. The entire thing will be a moot point if Glazebrook and his trusty sidekick The Prodigy play like they did 2 weeks ago with 5 points each. This will be a good test to tell whether standing pat or trading produces better results.
Rat Droppings 3 – Jets 2
Lions (7-8) vs Flames (10-5) Lions lead season series 2-1
The Lions traded away a lot of offense to get an elite D man. The reason that trade happened is because Turple dominated the Flames when sparing for the Lions. Can he produce that way as a member of the Pride? Fougere and Manson were both missing during that beatdown, likely not the same result with the big boys back.
Flames 5 – Lions 2
10 Minute Misconduct Race:

Side Notes:
No idea when we may get 3 hours of ice or even if we will play the makeup games. Another issue is getting refs too, they won’t come out for just 1 game, or rather not unless we pay bump them. We will wait till end of the year to decide, if the games determine playoff spots and we can get ice we will play. If we can’t get ice the final meetings of the missed games will be 4 point games.
Poll is leaning pretty heavy to not allowing spares. We will be adjusting the spare rule in the off-season. Flames and Lions, you ruined it.
I got a Wegovy prescription for Xmas. Is it a bad sign I am not starting it till January 1 because I want to stuff my face over the holiday season. Thanks you government of NS for covering the cost, jesus it is expensive.

Leafs fired Marc Savard, talk about a scapegoat. He ran the powerplay, it is the league worst. The Oilers have the leagues best, hmm, I wonder what the difference is between these teams.

Pittsburgh is still third in PP efficiency, Sid is still awesome. Old enough to play in the HRHL if this NHL thing doesn’t work out for him.

2 teams missed free beer and pizza night last week because of the storm, mother nature is a bitch.
I went to the rink just in case the power came on and I was in constant contact with Stu, Ricky and the captains. Seems most guys wanted to just call it so they could indulge in some kind of mind altering substance.
