its http://www.spektrumrc.com check it out. I am a dealer for horizon and as soon as they are available i will have them in stock to sell. the advantage is that you will always have a frequency available for you to use automatically "no need for frequency clips!!!" it finds a channel automatically 79 channels and you can use your radio in the pits! oh and it uses a tiny antenna that fits under the body.. cool huh.

THIS IS THE FUTURE...
What is DSM?

DSM is Digital Spectrum Modulation—a purely digital RF link between transmitter and model that is based on Direct Sequencing Spread Spectrum technology. It operates within the ultra-high 2.4GHz worldwide ISM band, provides unequalled signal resolution, and is immune to the most common forms of RF interference. It will even allow your model to “talk” back to you. It requires no crystals and completely frees you from ever having to monitor frequency usage again. Best of all, with Spektrum’s DSM System you can literally plug this phenomenal technology into existing transmitters like the JR R-1 and Airtronics M-8.

I looked at the site and it looks like it will be around $160. If that is the case (even if it goes up a little bit) put me on the list please. So this actually attches to your existing radio? I have a JR radio and receiver that is synthesized. I hope it is compatible.

It will not support the JR XS3/XS3 Pro. These are non-module systems, so the current DSM modules won't work.

The JR XS3/XS3 Pro is synthesized anyway, you can change channels with the touch of a button.

Your correct that radio is synthesized within the 30 FM 75mhz channels available which is great and better than most. However the Dsm will allow an additional 79 channels in the 2.4ghz range. you still need to check the pin board with your radio. If you had a radio with an FM module and the DSM you could switch between 109 Different channels!!!!
30 channels in 75mhz and 79 more on 2.4 ghz with auto switch no pin board issues.

Thats right guys your radios must have a module for DSM to work. So make the right choice when buying a new radio. you wont regret it.

Technology technology, it's amazing how far the radios have come since the original futaba magnums came out years ago. When purchaisng a new radio what would be the feature to look for if you want to upgrade to Spectrum. For example I have always usedd Futaba & Airtronics

According to Spektrum, 20% of the first batch had a current problem that would cause the batteries to drain rapidly. It was only in the first batch and their on the forth batch with all problems fixed.

With the first batch they also had a problem with the radios getting interference when used indoors. It would cause the fail safe to turn on. This has also been fixed.

If you had a problem with yours, you could have mailed the transmitter to them and they would have fixed it for free.

Just my 2cents.

I ran the spektrum this weekend at the regionals and had no problems. I willsay that the reaction of the servos is a little bit slower, but for most people thats not a problem.
