| On a beautiful Wednesday afternoon the Templeton Base Raiders beat the Paso Jr. Bearcats by a score of 12-5. The Bearcats scored the first two runs with hits and steals from their first and second batters. Then Alyssa Volpi settled into her rhythm and struck out ten of the next thirteen she faced. The Base Raiders came out swining and spanking the ball with Shelby Durta having her second 3-3 game and Kieresten Humphries hitting her second 2 run home run. Michele Gaminde and Elizabeth Hansen both got off the snyde with 2 hits each.
Liz powered up the middle while Michele's hits had eyes inside the right field line. A time consumming at bat by Stephanie Meracle, who drew a walk in the bottom of the 6th inning, assured that the Jr. Bearcats would not get another at bat as time ran out. The Base Raiders played an errorless game for the first time this season, but not their last. CONGRATS GIRLS.
Also a big thanks to Chuck Hoops for umpiring the game on such short notice.
