andy, the track owner, sells the 710. it is best to buy it from him, because remember you are going to need help and he is much more helpful when you also help him.

hey guys, i have an old hpi rs4 racer with a novarossi top engine that i used to race at tropical park in pat butler's old race league (tommy lee, j wong, bruzzo, and others) about 5-6 years ago. anyways i plan to become a member at raceway, plan to order my transponder too. gonna save up for a mugen or serpent 1/10 scale as well. until then, will running my hpi out at the track be ok? i mean, it prob cant compete but dont want to feel like i dont belong. thanks!

by the way, im very impressed with the quality of the track, website and members. was out there last summer for the first time to see the place and have now finally decided i miss the hobby too much. i always mess around with my 2 cars (onroad rs4 and offroad rc10gt) whenever i have free time, tinkering in the garage and running them in the park behind my house. Now with a quality track like royal palm raceway near my home in kendall, i feel i need to get back out there for the clean (greasy) fun.

Wise words from a wise man.

You'll be right at home then. Bruzzo is there every week. Johnny Wong is also there a few times a month. WIth that HPI you may not be the fastest, but your experience will let you be fast enough to compete and have some fun. Hope you get out there soon. Our summer Racer series starts on the 26th. Hope you can make it.

Hey Andy, I dont remember you from the old tropical days... but we were introduced last summer by Bruzzo on my first & only visit to Royal Palm. Great track! I hope to be running my rs4 for a short while until I get my skills honed again (its been 5+ yrs), but will hopefully be placing an S710 order with you soon enough. I just hope I can make a respectable driver such a racing machine... See you soon, peace.

Im strugglng between the S710 and MTX3 - they both seem to be excellent race cars, durable and easy to work on (key!). How about replacement parts $$$? Even considering buying a used S705 or MTX2 for the right discounted price, since I havent raced in so many years. They all seem like good cars, I just need a car that can take a beating - I probably wont be very smooth for some time. Suggestions?

I wouldn't go with those older cars, they're pretty outdated. The 710 is brand new and you'll get lots of support trackside. The MTX3 is older and rumors say it will be replced this year, but it is just as competitive as the 710. If you can get a good ebay deal on the MTX3 it might be worth it, or if you want good trackside support go with the 710, either way you can't go wrong.

I can personally tell you that I have both and I like both. But you'll get alot more help at the track if you buy Serpent and if your a track member than you'll get great prices from Andy.

Forget the older cars, you can't get parts.

I would say to get a 710 beacuse of the parts...people have them at the track, people have them at the stores...With my Kyosho, I have to be super careful (which is very tough) becaust I will have to get a new part in the mail...and that can ruin your weekend of racing
