| Hello guys,
I'm having my serpent 710 ready to take it to the track saturday, I finished the whole car, but I noticed that brakes only the rear wheels... is that the way it suppose to be? the front wheels brakes only if the car is going backwards, forward it keeps going!!! the rear is fine!

| First of all, DON"T PANIC. :) It's supposed to be like this. The more competitive cars like the Serpent have what's called a One-Way Differential in the front. I'm sure you noticed when you spin the rear wheels forward the front ones spin as well. The car will drive and roll throught turns better/faster with this kind of diff, but at the expense of some braking. THe trick is that you can only brake hard going straight, if you do it while you're turning, you'll spin the car or kick out the rear at least. The best thing to do to set them is to make them the hardest your can put them so your car won't spin out when going in a straight line. That will give you the maximum brakes. DOn't worry about only being able to brake ina straight line, it's not as hard as it sounds. As you learn to drive better, you'll see that's the best time to brake anyways. Good luck.

| Marcio I want to sit down with you and check your car out and explain some set-up and such at the track. the 710 is an awsome car (machine).

| Let me ask this, Why do so many 710 guys have hardly any brakes? I've driven about 6 or 7 of them, and it seems that their usually setup very poorly. Is this a setup issue? or does the 710 just not brake very well?

| its adjustable just like any other car. probably, the cars that you have driven are people who prefer less brakes. but i think DJ has his brakes set pretty strong, so you must not be referring to his car. also, i think its all about how you drive. for people who brake before turning, the brakes are stronger. for people who brake into the turn, they set the brake softer so the car does not skid out.

| I understand that. But when I mean no brakes, I mean ZERO brakes. These things wouldn't stop for anything. Just curious. I bet my Mugen will outbrake anything :P

| I'm confident that on any given day I can make my Mugen cross that line before anyone that's not a team driver :P And even then it's not too far off from those guys.
