I'm not sure if its the same format as it was last year, but who does everyone think will be the top 3 teams that will go to state from each league?

I think that our club in Cottage Grove might have some of the best pitching in the league this season. If we hit the ball well, we could be a scary team come playoff time. Just like last year.

Nice comment, Popeye. Lemme'guess; you are the 12th guy for a marginal team making stupid comments about the Skyline League. Climb back into your hole.

It's nice to see the kodiaks get some respect this year, we have improved our team greatly. I still think it will be tough to beat out the top three dogs:
1) tri-city
2) Irish
3) Greenmill

ST.Paul
1) Rosetown
2) Commanding Edge
3) Highland

However we might get lucky, if our "ace in the hole" pitches like he did last night.

We represented fairly well considering we lost 2 of our better players for the tourney.

I would love to say my own team CG but right now we are too inconsistant with the bats. We did get hot in the playoffs last year though.

If Sport & Spine has all their regular starters show up, they're as good as any team in the league. Take them for granted if you want...

There were no violins after we lost to Township just the sound of many miller lites crackin. Of course the wind was blowing slightly eastbound and the sun was in our eyes. I'll make sure to mention that for the next year.

Pretty sure the Roosters weren't 'whining' when they lost to Township, so no, there were no violins. And props to Twp too by the way.

Some actually take losing 'in stride' (aka. with dignity ;)....hard to imagine for some, I realize. And you can make all the excuses you want, but to still bring up the fact you lost "two of your better players" before state tourney is rather redundant. Forget the violin, sounds like a broken record!!

Gotta love the forum!!!

Yeah my transfer to the U screwed that up. Never really worked out for me the way I thought it would.

Either way great pickup for the Kodiaks. Give him my best and hopefully we can see you guys at State.

I heard that Stockmens is playing short handed this year. I guess their coach quit and they've lost some guys to injuries. I think they'll still make it to State however.

I also heard that the Kodiaks are much improved but one pitcher won't get you very far in the playoffs or state tournament.

Speaking of the Kodiaks (and WB Township), you guys need to take better care of your field. I realize it's probably a city field but there's no reason for it to look that bad.

OUCH! A complete non-sequitor about the White Bear Kodiaks/White Bear Township field. Doesn't help that you are utterly correct, the joint is a shit hole far too often. We built the complex out of turned-out wetland, so we suffer with even a small amount of rain. We have a new bunch trying to care for the field, but they suck, so far. Sorry, all, and good on you, Kodiaks (fu#@in' hurto, I'm guessing you are the one who hit the bomb off my ace that hasn't landed out in right yet).

While the Township field isn't the best, Green Mill's home field is an absolute disgrace. The St. Thomas Academy infield looks like a missile testing facility.

No we lost because two of our outfielders misplayed balls with two outs, that should have ended innings with no runs scored, which eventually led to all six Green Mill runs. No excuses, just plain errors. We gift-wrapped the game.

the shark sure did gift wrap that game. other than the excuses it was a good game between both teams. oh yeah, for a private school with nice facilities, the baseball field is a piece of garbage!
