| Yeah, they lost twice last week but they had 4-5 guys out of town. They almost had to forfeit their game with Green Mill on Saturday because they only had 8 guys and the 9th guy showed up with a few minutes to spare. When they have all their starters, they are pretty damn tough. I think they beat the Mudducks tonight even though they're still short handed and have guys playing out of position. Not bad for a team that lost its starting catcher, starting CF, starting 3B, and coach since the season began.

| I'm curious, why do people hate Stockmens so much. I don't have a problem with any of them. They play good, fundamental baseball.

| When they played Green Mill they were only missing one starter and that was their 2b, who isn't really one of their more important players.

| I'll be sure to pass that information on to their regular 2B Matt Jasper. He'll be happy to know you don't think he's an important player and he'll appreciate the bulletin board material. From what I know, the Irish also didn't have their 3B, their DH, and their RF was a guy who hasn't played a game in 2-3 years. Plus, the Irish threw a couple of guys that don't normally pitch. If they wanna hang their hat on that win, go ahead. More power to ya...

| Their 3b is no longer on the team, you can't continue to say they are missing a starter when he's not playing anymore. Yes that is true about the right fielder, they had their normal right fielder pitch and put some random guy there...and no, Dan Starken who started is a starting pitcher on the team and from what I've heard he is one of their top 2 pitchers. And he didn't make it out of the fourth inning. I'm not trying to offend Jasper, but when you look at Stockmen's...he doesn't stick out as one of their better players. Make more excuses why don't you.

| OK, I have no idea who Dan Starken is so if he's one of their top 2 pitchers, so be it. He definitely didn't pitch like it however. Here's a list of starters who weren't there against Green Mill (according to my buddy)
Matt Jasper Bobby Deeb Derek Johnson Chuck Paulson
True, their 3B Pudas quit a few games ago but Chuck Paulson is now their 3B but he wasn't there. They put some guy over there that hadn't played 3B since Little League and he booted 2-3 balls. I guess you can call this making excuses for them but let's just say that you'll see a very different team for the rematch at your place.

| Bleacher Bum...Who are you??? You seem to know a lot about our team.
Yes, we didn't have our normal line-up against Green Mill but that's the way it goes. I think they were in the same boat last year when we played them. $hit happens...

| Actually, their 3b did not make one error...he made every play, even a few nice clutch ones, and had one of their three hits so don't lie and say he booted 2-3 balls sounding like he cost the game. Paulson is a backup at Hamline...I don't think he'll suddenly turn Stockmen's around. According to Stockmen's website, Starken has started about half of their games...he's the same kid who had a scholarship to play ball at Iowa last year. Johnson throws an inning every 5 or 6 games and we already discussed Jasper. Deeb is a good hitter, I played against him in high school and he played on our legion team. I admire your Stockmen's spirit but don't lie and make up excuses.

| Stockmens 3B was credited with an error when he skipped one over to first that hit the lip and bounced over the 1B's head. There were a few other balls hit in the hole to his left that a normal 3B would've fielded easily, and he doesn't know how to cover the bag and tag a guy out when somebody is stealing third. He did have a hit but were not talking about his hitting. True, Johnson doesn't pitch as much anymore but he's been a consistent hitter and he at least would've been available to pitch a few innings instead of having Rothstein labor on the mound. Johnson still has great stuff but he can only go an inning or two at a time. Good luck the rest of the year...

| Mr. hegs,
Charlie Paulson was All-MIAC Honorable Mention this past year as a Freshman. Not bad for a "back up" eh?? I didn't see your name anywhere on the list. In fact, I didn't even see your name on the Gustavus roster, but I did see that you hit a robust .225 a few years ago. Wher have you been the past few years?? Did you leave school early to turn pro?? I love how a guy that doesn't even play college baseball feels like he can assess the talent level of another team.
