I cant believe they still consider this to be a premier amateur league. It's nearly an over 30 softball league at this point in time. I wish the good guys still left in it some good luck, but the way things have gone in the last few years, it might not be around much longer.

yea i know nobody is going to respond since i don't post my name. Thats pretty ridiculous, the post remains the same, the point got across regardless if i had posted my name or not, the truth can't be hidden. the league never got a new influence of people.

It is amazing another person hiding behind a screen name taking shots at the league. The level of play is still very high. The heyday of amatuer baseball leagues has passed with the rise of all the independent teams across the nation.

If you think it is so easy to maintain a level of high play, why don't you form a team and show us how it is done? I am sure we can all learn from your wisdom.

All teams and leagues in New Jersey and Rockland, have an open invitation to play in the league or register their league with the AABC and take on our best.

So if you are so sure that we are down and out. Why don't you do some work and see if those leagues or teams want to play?

Unlike the NHL we will be playing this season. Have a idea how we can be better? Post your name and maybe your thoughts will mean something.

Hey Xleaguer, what is so hard about signing your name? Farber or Lutz please light this guy up already! Anyway most of us on this forum sign our names unless we are known already so then there would be no need. Show som balls and sign your name.

i would bet that you ARE an "exleaguer" because YOUR skills couldn't keep up with the talent in the league and you're bitter about it. It's probably also why you won't sign your name - you can't take the embarrassment of us "over 30's" knowing who you are.

no its not that, you guys take it so personally about the name stuff, theres no need for it, i dont play in the league anymore because it was a waste of time, not because talent level. the only thing talked about on here is beer and wings by over 30 men, dont deny it, this league is going down hill.

ok, ive had enough!!
Is the league as good as the met league or all amatuer baseball around North Jersey was 10-15 years ago. No, but Danny covered that. There are less and less guys like us. Guys hang em up right after college or leaving the minors now. Or they waste their time playing independent ball because they think that someone will FINALLY notice the mistake they made by letting them go or never drafting them at all. Times afe different. That being said the top teams are still teams that would compete very evenly with the Met League's top teir teams from the 80's and early 90's. Some of the newer younger teams have work to do but the old met league from thee 80's had teams like little ferry and north among others that finished seasons at like 4-36 and 8-32. And next time you tell me it was a waste of time to play in our league pick up a fuckin bat and hop in against Wassong, steal a base on me, run down a ball like digiralomo, turn 2 like higgins, run the bases like lauty, hit like montelbano. And we didn't even win the state this year. Rick

oh relax, the reason you didnt win this year is because those guys play baseball 2 months a year and thats what i am getting at. you even admitted that the league isnt as good, you made the same point i did so what are you arguing about. of course there are gonna be teams with poor records every year but the overall talent in the league has gotten much worse. not only that, look at all the teams that have folded or merged in recent years. besides that even the leagues merged, it has progressivly gotten worse and worse, i didnt attack anybody personally, i think i'm speaking the truth.

Hey guys don't let this has been get to you.I for have to say that i searh for a league to play in for a while before i entered the league, even though we didn't fair well in our first 2 season will still felt as a team that this was a good league to play in, and the support that i and my team have gotten was fair.So lets move ahead and continue to play ball. Also if he feels that he change things in league an input is always welcomed. But to trash us like that is unfair. So lets play some baseball like we've been doing and let this guy sit on his couch and have a few wings and beers on me.Hope for much better season we will be just as tough as the past 2.
good luck
Milton

That comes out of nowhere DeMenna. I dont understand why everybody took it so personally, i thought it would be pretty much agreeable. Just look there are only 6 teams or so returning from last year. I'm not gonna waste my time giving more examples because nobody wants to listen or realize the truth.

ok thats your opinion. why do you feel it necessary to share that opinion with us. is your opinion gonna change something? no
are you gonna do something about your opinion?obviously not.
so why share your opinion to create a stir to make people resond to you. Do you crave attention even though you won't sign your name.
does no one at your job value you does your girlfriend or parents not give you enough attention. There is no need for you to be on this site or share your opinion with us.
You should examine why you need to get a rise out of people. the league and competing means alot to myself and many guys in this league it doesn't to you so go on with other things in your life and stop wasting time criticizing others.

you have a lot of questions. i think if you would look up the definition of "forum" most of them would be answered. i only mentioned what has been going on within the league for the last couple of years, something that everybody knows so no im not trying to create any problems. you all cant be in denial, somebody somewhere must see this happening besides myself.

exleaguer--do you have any suggestions on how to improve the league? and why are you afraid to say who you are? if you have ideas that you think may improve the league, let us know what they are and who you are.

the forum is for people to discuss league matters. you are a self admitted ex-leaguer so don't criticize the league if your not part of it. If you were an active player and had a stake in the league i would give your observation credence. Answer me this one question. What outcome are you looking for from your opinion. Should we just shut the league down? Just let us know. How was it in amatuer ball in your day before you got "the call" on draft day and made your way to the bigs.
Otherwise your a whiner who sucks now and sucked then. Without a name, give us some of your credentials which would maybe give you some credibility. I mean if Jeff Albies, John Celantano, or Dan Morogiello is saying this then ok I respect what your saying but if your the ex-pinch hitter from the Jersey City who led his JV team in on base percentage in high school shut the fuck up.

the fact that you do it while still playing. it's obvious what is more important to people around here and your the ring leader Ed. grow up, i dont care if u drink 100 beers a day but dont go around bragging about like your a 17 year old kid.

you have to take the wings and beer comments a little less seriously. Remember Ed doesn't play, Azz self-admittingly plays only occasionally and realizes his is not the player he once was. They do it after the games not during. Also this is the offseason they are just fuckin with each other. When they get between the lines they are not like this.
YOU STILL HAVE NOT RESONDED TO MY LAST POST.
NO CHANGING THE SUBJECT!!!

exleaguer, this message board is for guys in the league to bullshit with each other. that is what we have been doing since the website was created. you stated your opinion of the league, now leave. or let us know who you are so we can have a conversation with a person not a screen name. as for me making light of drinking and eating wings, it's SUMMER LEAGUE BASEBALL! not MLB, get over it. you play a game, then go out and have a few beers and wings with the guys, that's what it's all about. "the call" ain't coming anymore, it's over.

matty, it's not mook...he was the 1st person I thought of too! LOL
