| i have a question i thought in level 2 you could not tumble and throw round off BHS and standing BHS?

| what happens to a team who threw level 3 skills and was declared as level 2? I saw this Saturday do they move up to level 3 or just take out the illegal moves

| Once a team has declared a level they can not change. They would be penalized in scoring

| there are no deductions at leagues, just warnings. if you do not change it then you will get a deduction.

| That is not fair. I know there are only warnings at leagues. But in this case i do not think that is fair for a team to throw a high skill than their level and win it. They should not receive ANY points for that skill section (tumbling). They should have all been given the rules and should know them! The penalty should be assessed not matter the competition.

| I saw both in C & A divisions level 2 teams throwing level 3 tumbling skills. Because there were no "deductions/penalties" I hope they got spoken to. This is a perfect example of how some teams are competing in the wrong levels, which isn't fair to other teams that belong in that division. If you are throwing backhandsprings than you have not taken the time to correctly read through the Popwarner rules or learned from all of the tests you need to pass in order to coach. One team in particular competed in the level 3 division last year, but declared level 2 this year yet still threw backhandsprings. I'm confused? Anyone else agree with this.

| i agree with that. I know the team you are talking about and they went from a medium level 3 to a medium level 2 yet threw level 3 tumbling and stunts. Its not fair. They should have stayed level 3 since they clearly have level 3 skills. Now they have to "waterdown" there routine for EMASS

| As a spectator that had no dog in the fight last Saturday, but I have some insight as to the new rules, I saw this also. My thoughts are if the team committing the infraction has no competition in their league, then no big deal, doesn't matter, they move on anyway. However, if they do have league competition, then the entire skill should be disqualified from their score. If they still manage to win their league, with that skill nullified, good for them. I am just a parent, not a judge or a coach, and I have seen Pop Warner make strides to level the playing field so to speak for the cheerleaders over the past 5 years. I think the floor has gotten a lot fairer as far as making sure the proper skill levels are represented in the proper divisions.
Maybe something to think about for next year??

| In the rulebook, it clearly states that once you declare that you can't perform these skills so I am confused on why they would compete with them. I can understand pushing a level to its limits and doing things in the gray area to see if allowed but I do not see how it is ok to perform the tumbling.

| Agreed that it's not ok, but if they do not get credit for the entire skill, and they do not score high enough to qualify for the next round, they will be eliminated. It only hurts the squad committing the infraction. Again, maybe something to discuss for next years rule book.

| This is so unfair to the other teams that they are doing this. The teams that are level 2 are novice level. If you have a team throwing bhs they are not novice. Nothing like stacking your team. :( so crappy

| Tumbling is not what makes a level 3 team, or did we all forget, that there's stunting involved too? I agree completely that they shouldn't be throwing back handsprings, and if they don't stop doing it now trust me instinct is gonna take over and they will do it at qualifiers and get caught. Again though, just because they have tumbling doesn't make them a level 3 team, and just because you have stunting doesn't make you a level 3 team. You have to have both! Good Luck to all the teams competing this weekend.
