Green Mill beat Stockmens 5-4. Great game. Although in a losing cause Nick Bierken hit a homerun harder than I have seen in a long time. There was a meal served on that flight.

Hey toss did you throw tonight? Let me guess, complete game shutout and walk-off homerun.

Good luck the rest of the way.

Tim

I threw a pretty good game giving up just 1 infield hit thru the 8 innings. I did walk a few as usual.

We scored on a squeeze play that turned into a wild pitch. Air Freight's pitchers threw a great game giving up only 3 hits and the unearned run.

Did Balder throw for you against CE?

Dear Skyline League Umpires,

Wake the F%&# up. Please brush up on your balk rules. Bierken (sp?) from Stockmans did not balk. He made the same move 2-3 other times earlier in the game yet you wait until there's a runner on 3rd in the 6th inning of a tie game to call it. From where I was sitting, the entire Green Mill dugout was crying balk so the base ump decided to call it. You also missed a call earlier in the game where Stockmans CF caught a ball and you said it was a trap. Hopefully some of you umpires read this board because playoff time is not the time for you guys to go in the tank.

Salty much? Com'on, is that the entire reason that they lost? was there a runner in scoring position at all over the course of the game that didnt' get driven in? my guess would be a resounding yes...so my advice...don't balk with a runner on 3rd and drive the runners in that are standing on 2nd or 3rd...ps - this isn't the NHL(where the ref's put their whistle's in their pocket.)...deal with it and move on...

Obviously YAZ #2 forgot the number of errors that allowed Green Mill to score the first 3 runs to tie the game.

I saw the ball get trapped by Thompson in CF. He's an honest kid who would have been upset had he caught the ball and then had the ref call it a trap. Since he didn't show any concern, I take it he knew the call was right.

Bjerken did make a slight move toward first before coming home with the pitch. It was a balk, just a really bad time for it to be called.

Don't blame the loss on those two calls. Dropped balls and shoddy fielding by Stockmen's is more of the problem. Also, there was at least two times when Stockmen's had a player at third with one out and couldn't drive him in.

When Stockmen's cleans up their fundemental mistakes, then take issue with the umps. Until then, while I hope for an Irish victory, I also appreciate good baseball. Green Mill was the better team last night and the scoreboard shows it.

That being said... in keeping with my theme... the Skyline is still mediocre and has to prove itself in the State Tournament.

No, Andy Larson threw a great game for us. He hasnt thrown much this year, but in years past had been one of our top pitchers.
