Im sorry I have to leave this post re: Westside.

I have been playing town ball since 1987 and I ahve to say with all honesty that Westside is the worst amateur team I have ever seen period!

With that being said I give respect to their players unless they are the ones doing their website write ups.

They get it on the field they shut up and play, have fun, smile, don't poop off and it is obvious they know they are out gunned.

However their website postings dictate that I write this. What team post phantom victories agaisnt a team like Tonka when they actually get throttled?

That was not only a joke but a disgrace. If they are not going to go back to the sunday league then they need to keep their parents off the website from writing their silly little write ups.

Last but not least our club is considering playingonly our 13 pitchers agaisnt them next year while our dogs grill, and sip kool aide with their wives and kids watching our pitchers ten run them....seriously!

By the way i could not hit my way out of a wet sack and have had 20 Ab's the last five years but there is no doubt in my mind I would be their best overall player after 50 at bats not to mention the fact that I would be their best pitcher.

My advice to the Westside Bombers is they go back to the Sunday league and that they brought this post on by their website stupidity and the fact that they are WAY OVERMATCHED...go back to the Sunday league.

PERIOD AMEN!

CONLEY #22

P.S.

I had a three inning perfect game going agaisnt them and skip Johnson asked if I wanted to stay in and I said, "If Slip needs the work then put him in because I don't need a perfect game agaisnt these kids, I am older then most of their parents...........

Regards,

Wow. I just checked the Bomber website out...did not know they posted a phantom victory over us (Millers). Pretty creative writing, I must say. And I think it would be a great experiment to play all your pitchers against them next year. I may have to give Hoy that idea as well. How else will I get my first hit in two years, and second hit in the last six? The last one I got was off of some knuckleballer from Park.

In all seriousness though, they are pretty bad. It's hard to imagine these guys even made their varsity high school teams. Although I will agree they seem to enjoy the game, and other than the website, are not bush-league in any way. I almost feel bad writing this, that's how bad they are. I'm hoping they stick around because I got my first start on the hill in five years against them (which according to their website, I lost.)

Conley I have to just say this is a completely disrespectful post above and I believe implies you think you're bigger than the game.

Also I believe their fake win on their website over Minnetonka is pretty bush and deserving of ripping.

Beyond that, I know nothing of the Bombers. Never played them, never seen them play. Met their lone all star at the all star game and he was a nice kid. You said yourself they don't pop off, and they play hard.

We have a team in the Park National that isn't the best team either yet they are some of the nicest guys who love playing the game and play hard. Why would anyone want to take that away from them? Good for them for not wanting to play the pathetic game of softball.

I can't imagine it is easy to just start a new team. (How new are they?) There are really good Class A teams, especially in the Riverview. Teams are used to playing with woodbats and have tons of experience. I'm guessing they lack in both areas beyond any talent question marks. They post on the site for new talent wanting to join a team and I don't think they should be ripped for that.

If you want to get all over them for their website write up then stick to that.

I thought it was pretty funny, but it should be noted that it's not true somewhere on the writeup.

By the way, a non-phantom win against Minnetonka can be seen here:

To everyone who wants to bash the bombers let me just say this: this past season was there second in the Riverview league, the average age on the team is around 20 and we struggled to get 9 guys to most of the games. Some games we even had highschoolers playing. As far as the phantom win, none of the players had anything to do with that and didn't know about it until it was already on the website. At least when we go out and play we have fun and its better than being most of the guys on this forum who ride the bench for some of the top teams and think they are the shit. Why don't they all join the Bombers if they are so good and help get the team started!

You're right dude, I apologize. I hope you guys improve next year and continue to enjoy the game. As for the phantom-win posting, I think we can all relate to being unfairly portrayed a certain way because of one player, coach or parent's actions on your team. I'm sure whoever wrote it did not have a sit-down with all team members and say, "here's the deal, I'm gonna write a really elaborate story about us beating the Millers even though we did not." Good luck next year and keep enjoying the game.

No, everyone is right. you guys really suck. I would rather sit the bench for UM Crookston, Hell, even OG played more college and HS baseball in his 40's than this entire team combined.
Stir that in your morning coffee

Jimmy if you had high schoolers playing in your games all the more reason why your club and or the club you support should not be in the Riverview league.

As a parent I would not want my high school child playing in the Riverview league because they seriously could get hurt especially if they did not have any varsity HS experience much less any collegiate time on the diamond.

Yes-this is a men's league, not a boy's league. Wanna have fun? Stick to recreational leagues.

Conley you are probably right when it comes to the highschoolers. The main issue this past year is many guys who for some reason or another never showed up. We had 24 guys on the roster and stilled struggled to get 9 to games. This is the reason the coach is cutting half the guys on the roster and "looking for new talant". Many games we had guys playing hurt or positions they don't usually play. We only had a few guys who could pitch and throw stikes as many teams found out. If we had 13 pitchers like you guys, that didn't have to play every game I would guarantee we would be at a minimum a .500 ball club. However, I will say that we had many games that we were playing well and right in the game until one bad inning. And for whoever thought that I was a parent: I play for the bombers #28. Many of you probably saw me swip a base or two from your team with ease.

That isn't the point of my comment. Basically you just reiterated it. Baseball SHOULD be fun with your buddies. Its a couple hrs a night to hang out with your buddies and not worry about work.....Who cares what you've done in your ball career? Whatever you've done there are plenty that have done more!

I thought the reason for playing was to win-compete. Fun is for intramurals. It's also fun when you WIN. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

I do field work for a team in the Riverview and Westside has always told me I do fine job the times they have played there. Don't be to hard on them. They have always been classy and keep their dugouts clean. I look forward to that game because I know my work will be appreciated!
