It's OK though, now Larussa has an extra month to drink and pass out at street lights......ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz. I guess that would give you even more of a reason to hate the colors red and blue.

Ahhh, the past what a wonderful time...While your at it why don't you break out your parachute pants, your "Slippery When Wet" album, maybe break down a refridgerator box or two and break dance. Geez that was then and now you are at home. Remember, Milli Vanilli won a Grammy once too.

Fish you talk more shit about the cubs than a chinese talk show, its good that you have team spirit, but WHAT in the existence of that franchise has that team down to be proven in sports????? answer _________. thats right it is left blank, there is still alot of ball to be played in that series, and the result will be unknown. what can you say about the past well thats why there is History books and thats why history is a major suject in american culture. like i said earlier, so what the cardinals didnt make the post season this year, neither you nor i or any fan can control it. In the past "HISTORY" THE cardinals have at least been one of the top Major League Teams to Win the World Series, Cubs are only known for CHOKING. Still a lot of ball to be played, and I may eat my words but get some credentials on your Team before you beat the bank on it

Livin in the past? Isn't that all there is? The future hasn't happened yet and by you logic, the instant after you win the World Series it's the past, so who cares? As soon as a team raises their hands in victory, by the time they all get to the mound to mob their pitcher, it's old news. lol

Also, Pujols has been in the league 8 years. 3 of those, he hasn't been in the playoffs. I'll take those stats as a Cards fan.

Ha ha ha ha....that's why I love this site. There is always something to look forward to when I get to work in the morning. Hey, I'm just trying my best here to hold off about 10 of you vs. me...the only Cub fan that will respond to anything right now and to be honest with you I will admit this....it's getting very hard to do given the present state and yes I am digging to the bottom of the barrel but you wouldn't respect me in the morning if I didn't at least take my team's back here. There is always one faithful saying that keeps us Cubs fans coming back for more torture annualy and that is...."There's Always Next Year!!" But, it's not over until it's over I still have about 36 hrs. to relish in the glory of our back to back central league championships, our winning season series vs. St. Louis (again), and our 97 win season. If you remember I said a couple months ago that I wasn't talking smack until it was all over and I haven't but I won't sit here while bitter Card fans bust my boys balls!! Wouldn't expect you to do the same if someone was bustin' on yours! So...just like religion and politics we can argue this (baseball) until Rook drinks Busch N/A!!

If Big "Z" cant get the cubs a win then its over. Its a shame he cant play every postion maybe the cubs would of had a shot at winning this thing agasint L.A.
" Theres always next year"

well maybe in the off season your infielders should learn how to play.

They have gift wrapped this series for the Dodgers, but i guess thats all part of the so called curse. The excuse cub fans use for 101 years of not good enough to win a world series baseball.-

Sure the cardinals didnt make the post season, but what good is making the post season when u get swept out of it?

LOL "learn how to play"??? Well it was good enough to win 97 games this season. Lee has how many...3 gold gloves? Aramis Ramerirez has how many? How many does Albert have? Our SS was 6th in the league in hitting! Your shortstop is a Cubs reject, your 3rd baseman went 0-32 against the Cubs until he had one big game and your second baseman is who again? I even forget! You are usually level headed on here Kevin but you need to check the season fielding percentages and the facts, 'just the facts'there Dragnet before getting on here and blasting players for a bad game in the field. Unfortunately yes, the Cubs have had 2 bad games in a row and are catching a late peaking Dodgers club and yes they may not be lucky enough to sneak into the World Series on an 82 win season but Jesus, give em a break they have had one Hell of a year! I gave the Cardinals nothing but props on here earlier this year for the way they were playing and stepping way outside their expectations. I even pulled for them a bit a few years ago in the Series cause it was a division team but no more. It's just typical that you guys sit here like vultures waiting for the last breathe of a dying antelope, hoping, waiting, praying to swoop in for scraps just typing with every ounce of sour grapes you have due to the collapse of your team. Common now get over it. We can share our catch phrase with you if you want. We are not selfish like that. Say it with me Cards fans..."There's always next year...There's always next year..."

Fish dude no offense but what good does gold glove counting do when in the last two years your allstar infield is yet to win a playoff game?
Listen bud i was on your teams wagon i thought they would be in the world series i wasnt rooting for them by any means but it seemed as if they would get to the world series.

now they're reminding everyone that they are the cubs and the wheels have fallen off the car. like the Yankeeks like the Mets learned money can not buy a championship.

Albert Pujols may not have as many gold gloves as some of your players but he has more post season apperances and oh yeah whats that thing called a World series Ring. Something no one has been able to claim winning for the cubs for the last 101 years. it was a good run this year they did some good things, its just a shame its gonna be another first round defeat.

Fish im not saying this with intent to bash on the cubs I myself as picking them to represent the N.L. feel a little let down by what the cubs are doing this year. They did run into a hot Dodger team, and im telling you the dodgers could ride this momentum all the way to the Series. You know i got respect for you as a level headed fun to talk sports with cubs fan. Like trust me its gonna be a while before the Cardinals get there again, so ill let you have your phrase, ill say the cardinals will be there in 2012. or when they decided *or if* to spend money in free angency. Until then good the cubs had an amazing year, no question its just bad that it might end with a sweep. anyways enjoy the post season.

This has always been my problem with the cubs and MOST, of there fans. Last year all you could see on here was cub fans talking shit to cardinal fans because for once they had a good team, and the cardinals were struggling and finished below .500.

As a cardinals fan this year I gave the cubs props for having the sucess that they were having in the regular season. Here comes the post season here comes a a team from the west and there goes the cubs literally just embarssing themselves on the field. Heres the the thing that gets me tho, the 4 errors committed in the first two games wont go down as poor prepreation but it will fall under "its the curse." I dont understand how this franchise which has produced so many choke artist gets this bye, well if we lose its the curse.

Could it be that Sweet Lou just isnt a good post season manager and cant motivate his players enough to play at the stature needed to win in the post season. Oh wait you'll never hear that talk floatin around its just the "curse." its the pressure is just to much for these players. Everyone is so quick to make an excuse for why the cubs dont win other than nothing more than a very quick and poor performance, Where is Alfonsio Sorianos bat? He sure is worth 138 million dollars huh cubs fan?
Same with Fukedomae or however you spell it. Your All star right fielder from Japan is getting Benched. Sota, where did he go?
he couldnt even throw the ball back to the pitcher. The cubs need get team chemistry. that would help, or if Mark Cuban does come in and take over this franchise then maybe he can find someone to light a fire under there ass, I have never seen a team come out in the post season and look so flat.

PSKevin, you're absolutely right, there is no excuses, no "curse" cause I don't believe in them. It's high dollar players that don't come through in the clutch and obviously a manager that for the last 2 yrs cannot get his players ready to play in post season. I am big enough to admit it when my team faulters, it's Bear season now. And Rook, just bustin' balls buddy like always, it's OK. You don't have to go "old school" unless it's the Bears we are ripping on now and I am not putting any eggs in baskets yet there either. And yes, thank you for Jim Edmonds I guess.

Yep, he does just enough I think. I am enjoying it now but it is still very early so like I said not counting any chickens at all. We could be an easy 5-0 right now but the defense needs to find a way to lock up games in the 4th. The have played strong the last few wks but have only 1 division game under their belts. It could go any way from here on out. The thing that I like about this year is that it seems to be a toss up to see who is going to step up this season. The normal "domination" teams have seemed to falter a bit with Brady going down and the Colts off to a bad start. Dallas looks awful tough but stubbed their toe last wk against a decent Washington team. I enjoy talking sports with you too Kevin, you always keep an open mind and even though "some" people get a bit angry on here and get all riled up, I try to be open and objective but I do get a bit defensive when it comes to my Cubbies as I would expect anyone that loves their team to do and I will never fault that. I try to add some humor into it as well as bust some chops sometimes with the people that I know, but I can admit to defeat and I don't like making excuses as you know. I am already looking forward to April again even though I know it will be like asking for a new bike for XMas, waiting months only to run down stairs and see it's not under the tree! Us Cub fans are used to it. So, now everyone can let out a big WOOOSAAAHHH...breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth, relax and get all their new material ready for March during Spring Training when all the always loved STL vs. CHI smack and "old school" talk begins again. Thanks Kevin.

By the way did anyone hear what happened at Chicago airport on Friday while the Cubs were waiting to load up and get on the plane? Apparently someone got on the airport loudspeaker and said "Paging Koske Fukudome, paging Koske Fukudome, please report to Terminal (whatever, lets say 6A) outbound to Cinncinati as you have just been traded to Dusty Baker and the Reds!" Rome, Chris Myers and everyone on Fox Radio were talking about it. Now that's cold but I guess at 4yrs. 44 million plus incentives...you hit .260 you get your balls busted. I wonder if he did understand it when it was said? And if he didn't, do you think his translator relayed that message to him??

got give credit where credit is due, dudes a knowledble sports fan, Ill talking sports with anyone not sure im up for a date tho.

The power in the nfl is in the NFC for once, the colts are just so slow to start. I think there a wildcard team, and the pats..8-8 at best.
The bills are the best team in the afc east with a healthy Trent Edwards and Marshawn Lynch, then you gotta like what the Ravens are doing and the steelers & Titans are the shit. Fun to watch team is the young young Titans that D is nasty. Keep an eye out for sleeper teams like my 4-1 carolina panthers were making noise in the south, and them washington redskins and Jay Cutler wow.

Im still convinced the Rams wont beat anyone. They suck and looking at there schedule it doesnt get any easier, dallas will be up by 28 by half time Mark my words.

Great fun...i love it....I just got to thinking though, the Cubs won in 1908, BUT could it be proved? I mean, in a court of law you would need a witness to prove that something occured and I would love to meet the person that acutally remembers the Cubs winning a world series. - Sure there are newspapers, but those could be fabricated and faked - Maybe they never did win - Prove me wrong??!!!!
