A's Over Reds, 14-9
The A's and Reds battled back and forth through seven innings, and started the eighth inning tied, 8-8. But the A's scored six runs in the eighth and final frame, to come out on top, 14-9. Dave Anderson and Greg Whittaker led the offense with three hits and four RBIs apiece. Danny Beltran, Dave Dawson and Jack Charles each contributed a pair of hits, and Dave Zvonec was a perfect four walks in four at bats, scoring three times. Anderson gained his second mound win by reigning in a tough Reds offense.
