Clancy's Pub Wins With Walkoff Hit From Brandon Dittmar
Clancy's continues to win despite missing several key players. Paul Kubeja stepped in and threw a great game of 6 inn, 5 hit, 4 k baseball. Paul got the start because the original starter was stuck in traffic. Paul did not get the win as Josh Russell came in to throw a scoreless 7th frame and pickup the win when the Tarheels plated the go ahead run in the bottom of the 7th. Offensively the Tarheels were led by Joe Aul 2-3, Brandon Dittmar 2-4 2rbi including the walkoff winner, Alex Hernberger 3-3 and Mike Hustava who finally broke out of his season long skid going 3-3 with a mammoth blast to left field. In the final frame Clancy's started with a single from Kavinsky who was moved over with a sac bunt from Lou Kammermeier. Then Joe Aul was walked intentionally to set the stage for the scorching hot Brandon Dittmar who promptly delivered the go ahead hit with a laser thru the right side. Quinns was paced by Tony Kostelnik going 2-3. Alex Edgar threw a great game alllowing 3 runs over 5 while scattering 8 hits.
