With 3 of the 4 Yankee starters out, Yanks David Block throws a gas infused, 8 inning, 2 run gem holding the visitors to just one earned run on 5 hits. Excellent defense including 3 double plays and a highlight of the week over the back catch in deep center with the bases loaded. On the offensive, leadoff hitter Chico Hererra sets the tone of the offense with a leadoff triple and going 3for6 with 3 RBI’s while standout Mike Valez (4for5 and 5 RbIs) led a 10 earned run 6th inning to put the game away as the Yankees cruised to victory. Also noteworthy, Kasim Hussain 3for5 2 RBI’s & David Block found the energy to chip in 2for4 1RBI.
