Pirates Prevail In The Bottom Of 9th
Nail-biter to the end. Quality pitching from both staffs, lots of noisy outs and defensive dramatics. Mike Bodlovich works out the 8th and 9th with snakes slithering all over the bases.
For the Pirates, DJ Chomyk and Eddie Alfano two-hit - including a leadoff single in the bottom of 9th from Chomyk - and Kyle Taylor goes 2/2 with a double. Taylor also makes a Top 5 catch on this reporter's LABL decade-long highlight reel: a crazy full-sprint-diver-slider behind 3B from the SS position, applause all the way around. Eddie Alfano and Dale Dymkoski RBI two, each.
For the Sidewinders, Chris Healey is 3/4 with a pair of screaming, gap-shot doubles. Bob Affrunti lays down two perfect SAC bunts in a Small Ball 101 seminar.
