Titans Hang On vs Tenacious 45s
It was another sweltering afternoon in downtown LA, and 45s SP Robert Lewis and the Titans SP Mario Pena had their work cut out for them. The Titans scored 3 in the second inning. The 45s would get one in the 4th. But it was timely defense and Mario Pena that kept the 45s at bay...Until the 7th inning, when Pena gassed out,and walked 3 consecutive batters. The 45s would get just two runs, however, to make it 6-3. In the bottom of the 9th, things got dicey, with two outs, RP Marty Campbell hit 2 consecutive 45s batters, bringing the tying run to the plate. League doubles leader Garrett Ray was at the plate, and hit a deep fly ball..but was caught to end the game. RP John Sosa collects the save. Mario Pena gets credit for his 8th victory (not to mention the 3 hits)
