South Park Rolls Behind Matt Douglas's One Hitter
A first inning leadoff single by Tony Kostelnik that was lost in the sun by South Park's leftfielder Jake Bywalski and a fourth inning hit batter were the only things that kept South Park starter Matt Douglas from perfection on a lovely evening at Clairton Park. The Park squad started slowly as Quinn starter Anthony Garofalo mowed them down in a 4 pitch first inning. From there South Park was able to plate 3 in 2nd and 2 in the 3rd before exploding for 6 runs in the 4th, highlighted by a bases clearing triple by South Park centerfielder Jordan Campano. South Park's Dylan Pounds, Ryan Dodson, Chad Jacob, Ben Nolan and Adam Dodson all had multi-hit games and Campano and Jacob both drove in 3 runs . Adam Dodson also had a 2 RBI night for the Park squad who will face South Hills Saturday evening at 6:00 for sole possession of first place in the Daily News League.
