Stallions Whitewash Grays
The Stallions stampeded to a 12-0 victory behind JR Esparza's brilliant complete game shutout, Junior scattering 5 hits in 9 innings, striking out 12 and walking 1. The Stallions jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Sean Lang and Esparza continued their hot hitting with back-to-back run-scoring doubles in the 1st and 2nd innings. The two have smacked 7 doubles in the last two games. Klaus, Kaeller and the newest Stallion addition, Miguel Contreras, each contributed a pair of ribbies as well. Amidst the unusually quiet Gray's bats, only Michael Kedor managed an offense, whacking a pair of doubles and being the only Grays runner to make it to third. Troy Bregel wasn't the answer today as he got rocked for 10 runs in the first 3 innings. Shawn Carter and Arnie Costell pitched the final 6 innings for the Grays, each one surrendering 1 hit and 1 run apiece.
