Cards beat Shippensburg in tight game 7-3
Mechanicsburg Beat Shippensburg 7-3 Thursday night. Brendan Ward pitched getting the win in a complete game. He got off to a slow start giving up 3 runs in the first but settled down to shut down Shippensburg the rest of the way.
The Cards tied the game with one run in the 1st and 2 in the 2nd. The game stayed tien until the 5th when Mechanicsburg staged a 2 out rally. A walk to Mason Walker and a single by John Mayer led to a 2 run double by Ryan Wentzel. The Cards added 2 more in the 6th. Ryan Gray hit a solo home run. Zeb Stough knocked in the final run scoring Josh Herring who had singled.
