Mechanicsburg wins WSTBL Championship
After winning the league title Mechanicsburg beat New Cumberland 3-1 to win the West Shore Twilight League championship. The Cards won the series 4-1.
The Cardinals got started early scoring 2 runs in the first inning. Josh Herring led off with a single. Nate Blasick then hit a towering RBI triple. John Mayer scored Blasick with a single to left field. Mechanicsburg got their final run in the third. Blasick walked and Mayer hit a booming triple to the fence in left.
Luke Wagner pitched 5 1/3 inning to get the win. He gave up 4 hits while striking out 6. Hayden Fry pitched the final 1 2/3 innings for the save.
