Blue Jays defeat Americans on a Sunday
The Glory Days Blue Jays (8-0) defeated the Americans 18-3 in 5 innings on a beautiful Sunday night in Manahawkin.
The BJs, sponsored by South Jersey Heat and Cool, were firing on all cylinders. The BJs were led by Brian Cottrell. Brian went 4-4 4 runs scored 2B 4RBI at the plate. Cottrell pitched 4 solid innings for the win on the hill striking out 7. Jared "Wig" Anicic scored 3 runs, Tyler "Baseball" Hobbs had a 3B and 3 runs scored, Kyle Skoog had 2 hits and scored 2 runs, "Hot Sauce" Brandon McTigue scored three runs. Stephen "Blue Cheese" Cottrell added an RBI and a run scored. Paul Gudzak had a single, 2 RBI, and a took a bullet of a fastball off his ankle. Vinny "Sweet Meat" Gibson had a single and 3 RBI. Marc "Skip" Caputo had a single and an RBI. Mike Caputo had an RBI and a run scored.
The Americans were led by Jon Bovo. Bovo had a 2 RBI 2B in the 1st inning. Jose Ortiz added an RBI single. Anthony Puzzo and Will Morey each had a single and a run scored.
