Mudcats Hang On to Beat the Titans
Quinn Construction jumped out to an early lead in the first inning. Tarran Senay singled and moved to third on Jim Pasquines double. Bert Kovalsky brought Senay home with a single to make it 1-0. Kovalsky swiped second but Pasquine was gunned down at home on the double steal attempt. Kovalsky made it 2-0 when he scored on an Eric Morrison single. In the third inning, Pasquine walked and swiped second. He came home on another Kovalsky single, making it 3-0. Kovalsky ended up scoring when the catcher inadvertently threw the ball over the pitchers head to give the Mudcats a 4-0 lead. The Titans made it a game with four runs in the 4th inning. The Titans smacked six hits off of starter Kenny Gault to draw the score even at 4-4. Tarran Senay erased that lead when he lead off the bottom of the 5th with an opposite field solo shot to take back the lead 5-4. Reliever, AJ Olasz, ran into some trouble in the 6th inning. Olasz walked Nick Bernick, gave up a single to Brady Benedetti and walked Paul Connolly to load the bases with no outs. Olasz managed to strike out Nick Arnoni for the first out and then the Mudcats went to Pasquine to put out the fire. Pasquine struck out Nick Kopy and then got Talan Kammermeier to ground out to third to end the threat. Pasquine pitched a perfect 7th to preserve the win and earn the save. Angelo Volomino assisted Pasquine with a diving catch on Zach Murrays sinking liner and then ran down Dan Boehme's fly ball to end the game.
