'ALL COAST' HAS IMPRESSIVE OUTINGS ON WAY TO ALES TITLE

The "All Coast" softball team is the Champion of the 16th Annual Jesse Ales Memorial Softball Tournament. They won five straight games thanks to great defense and some heavy bats - and won the close contests.

The team started off with a 19-15 victory over "Racks & Tracks" then dominated the "Wreckers" 11-3. Next up was "Big River" whom they beat 16-12 then a 18-0 shellacking of S&K Auto in the finale of the winners bracket.

The championship game was against the same S&K team as they battled out of the loser's bracket - the result was a 27-7 win for "All Coast."

Here's the box score from that Championship game. As you can see, the game should have been over in the fourth inning with the score 20-4, but it was played the complete seven innings.:

'S&K AUTO/TOWING' EARN 17TH ANNUAL JESSE ALES MEMORIAL SECOND PLACE
S& K Auto & Towing (Lakeport, CA) had a great tourney over the weekend. The Lake County team started out by edging the always dangerous Dick's Place team 11-10, then defeating 2013 tourney runner up Ales Transporting 10-4 and knocked off the "Odd Balls" before being sent to the loser's bracket where they edged defending champ Tri-County 11-10 to get in the chamionship game.

We should have known Scot Mullin, MCRPD Program Coordinator and director of the 17th Annual Jesse Ales softball tourney, would have the team photo of the third place finishers (and three-time defending champ) Tri-County. In fact, the team was champion every year since 2006 (excluding 2010 when "All Coast All Most" took the title) and have "won it all" 9 out of the 17 years the tourney has been played.
