Indians break open scoreless game with 4 in 4th in 8-1 win
Corey Miller and Ryan Chataginer traded zeroes for the first 3 innings, each only allowing 3 baserunners. Chataginer completed his 4 innings without allowing a run, but the Indians finally got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 4th, leading off the inning with 3 straight hits with a Rob Myers single knocking in the first run of the game. They added 3 more on a groundout, a Brendon McGirr double, and an error to take a lead they would never relinquish. The Cardinals started the top of the 5th with 3 straight hits, with a Brett Herman RBI single getting them on the scoreboard, but that would be the only run they'd manage. The Indians added a pair of runs in both the 5th (Rick Thompson 2-run homer) and 6th (Jared Grim 2-run single) innings to put the game out of reach. Chataginer (win, 2 hits, 2 runs) and Thompson (save, 2 hits, 2 runs, 2 RBIs) led the Indians both at the plate and on the mound in the victory.
