Lynch Ks 7 over 4 shutout innings to lead Red Sox to win
The Red Sox jumped out to a 4-0 lead after 2 innings with clutch 2-out hitting. Brian Stambaugh had a 2-out RBI single to put the Sox on the board in the first, then Mike Lynch hit a 2-out RBI double followed by Jason Barmore's 2-run single in the second. There was no more scoring through the 4th as the starters finished their 4 innings. Lynch only allowed 2 hits and a walk to go with his 7 strikeouts. The Sox broke the game open in the 5th and 6th, adding 9 runs on 10 hits and 5 walks. David Trageser had RBI singles in each inning and Adam Lynch had a 2-run single in the 6th. The Diamondbacks finally broke through in the bottom of the 7th, leading off the inning with 3 straight singles, with Bob Speelman Jr. plating the run.
Game MVP Mike Lynch led all hitters with 3 hits and 3 runs. Jason Barmore was perfect with 2 singles, a walk, 2 runs, and 3 RBIs. David Trageser, Adam Lynch, Neil Werner, Tim Scott, and Chris Schildt each chipped in a pair of hits for the Sox. The Diamondbacks' Troy Bosserman was 2-for-2 and scored their only run.
