Expos blow open 2-1 game with 12 in the 4th and 5th innings
The Expos got on the board right away, scoring twice in the top of the 1st with 3 walks and a single. The game would stay that way until the bottom of the 3rd when the Diamondbacks first hit of the game from Dillon Reynolds plated a run, but the tying run was thrown out at home on the same play to end the inning. In the top of the 4th, the first 7 Expos reached base and scored as they batted around opening up a 9-1 lead. The big hit was a 2-run single to right by Ron Lehman. The top of the 5th was almost a carbon copy as 6 of the same first 7 Expos reached base, resulting in 5 more runs, including a 2-run double to deep center by Keith Acosta. On the rubber, Nate Estabrook and Joe McLucas combined on a 2-hitter, allowing only a single unearned run.
Lehman and Estabrook led all hitters with 3 hits. Bryan Hess, TJ Richartz, Keith Acosta and Jim Lyter each added 2 hits for the Expos.
