Rays come roaring back to scalp Indians
Ryan Chataginer started the game with a bang, crushing a solo HR to put the Indians up right away. However, Roga Rangel would get into a groove after that, allowing only an unearned run in the 2nd inning and 3 more hits across his 4 innings. Meanwhile, the Rays offense wasn't able to do anything until the 3rd inning. Mike Koller got the Rays on the board with an RBI single, then Rangel helped himself, beating out an infield single with 2 outs, which allowed Tim Albers to score from 2nd base, to tie the game with his hustle. In the 4th inning, Tim Gerber smacked a 2-run double to give the Rays the lead, and Rangel helped himself even more with a 2-run single to put the Rays up 6-2. The Rays then put the game on ice with the help of the Indians pitching and defense in the 5th, scoring 4 more runs without a hit, thanks to 3 walks, 2 hit batters and 2 errors. Gerber came in for the 5th to prevent any Indians' comeback. He pitched 3 innings, allowing 1 run and 4 hits, to pick up the save.
For the Rays, Koller and Rangel each had 2 hits, with Rangel knocking in 4. For the Indians, Chataginer and Chad Moser had 2 hits.
