Cardinals drop a dozen on A's: 12 runs, 12 hits, 12 walks
The Cardinals took advantage of the offered generosity early on, scoring twice in the 1st inning without a hit. In the 2nd, after 2 more walks and a Brett Herman double loaded the bases, Ben Sheppard cleared the bases with a 3-run double to give the Cardinals a 5-0 lead after 2 innings while only having 2 hits. The Cardinals' Corey Miller pitched 4 quality innings on this scorching afternoon, only allowing 5 hits and an unearned run, when a 1-out error in the 3rd came around to score on a Ken Brignall single. The Cardinals put the game on ice in the 4th (which instantly melted), scoring 6 runs, with the key hit being a Damien Robinson 2-run double.
