Royals score 7 in 5th for comeback win over A's
After a scoreless first, a Steve Collison triple led to 2 runs in the Royals 2nd inning. They added 2 more runs in the 3rd on an Andy Mumma 2-run single to take a 4-0 lead. The A's finally got things going in the 4th, loading the bases with one out, when Isidore Martinez knocked in 2 with a single. An error reloaded the bases followed by 4 straight RBIs on a walk, hit batter, sac fly and John Lawton single to give the A's the lead at 6-4. In the bottom of the 5th, Chris Caldwell singled in a run to cut the lead to one run. With one out, Jesse Kling hit a bases-clearing double to put the Royals back ahead 8-6. After reloading the bases with 2 outs, Joe Pecora knocked in the last 2 runs of the Royals 7-run inning for an 11-6 lead. Nick Collette then struck out the last 2 batters in the top of the 6th to lock up the win.
Joe Pecora led the Royals with 2 hits. Ariel Diaz Pantoja led the A's with 2 hits.
