Mudcats Small Ball Their Way Past Aul Bat Company
Quinn Construction was their worst enemy in the first five innings, but Luke Hils found a way to keep the game close for the Mudcats. Aul Bat Company scored in the first on a Thomas Medwig single and then made it 2-0 in the second on a Traynor Janosko single. The Mudcats came to life in the 6th. Dylan Kugler lead off the inning with a double and moved to third on a Corey Kuszaj single. Bert Kovalsky brought Kugler home with a bunt single and then Logan Simmons brought Kuszaj home with a sac bunt that knotted the score at 2-2. In the bottom of the 8th, Kovalsky lead off with a double into the gap. Zane Griffaton reached on a bunt single and then Simmons added another RBI with a sac fly to center to walk it off for the Mudcats. Griffaton earned the win in relief of Luke Hils.
