Allegheny Vision Takes Season Series Over Plum Via Run Rule

Allegheny Vision Vipers scored eight runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat the Plum Pterodactyls 12-2 on Sunday at Baker Field. Brady Benedetti doubled, scoring two runs, Brady Dojonovic induced Shaun Kellermann to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Alex Arrigo singled, scoring one run, Daniel Boehme was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Dave Boehme doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. Plum Pterodactyls got on the board in the top of the first inning after a Jake Auld sacrifice fly and a single down the right field line by Kenny Boyle, each scoring one run. In Vipers response - Nick Arnoni singled to left field, which helped Allegheny Vision tie the game at two in the bottom of the first. Arnoni earned the win for the Vipers on the hill, the lefty pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking one. Dojonovic took the loss for Plum Pterodactyls, the starting pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, giving up 10 runs (nine earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking four. Aaron Exler pitched one inning of shutout ball for Allegheny Vision in relief - allowing zero hits, striking out none and walking none. The victories Vipers amassed 10 hits in the game - Dave Boehme, Paul Connolly, Benedetti, and Arnoni each collected two hits. Kellermann went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in.
