Port Vue Walks Their Way To Victory In Marathon Game
In a game that totaled 4 hours with only 7 innings played, there was no shortage of excitement. The game went 1 1/2 innings before a lightning delay was called and lasted over an hour before play resumed. The Cats came out hot post delay and scored a quick run in the bottom of the 2nd behind singles from Chris Rendulic, Cam Seabol, Nick Gasper and Plum native Frank Macioce. A fielders choice and a sacrifice knocked in the final 2 of the inning. Plum would respond with one of their own in the top of the 3rd. The Cats put up 5 more in the 4th giving them a seemingly comfortable lead. Starter Chris Rendulic went 5 innings only allowing 1 run, however relief pitchers were scarce after he exited the game. Plum would overcome a 10-2 deficit behind a plethora of walks and well timed hits, and would tie the game up 10-10 going into the bottom of the 7th. The Cats would win the game exactly how they allowed the comeback, behind 4 straight walks. The Cats were paced offensively by Chris Rendulic with 2 singles, a double, 2 RBIs, and 1 sacrifice fly.
