8 Run 7th Inning Pushes Cats Past Allegheny Vision
The first 3 innings of the outing were scoreless until Allegheny Vision got on the board first behind a Brady Benedetti walk and a Dan Flynn triple. They would pile on 4 more behind 2 walked in runs and 4 doubles. Despite the steady rain and looming darkness, closer Mike Hines was able to stop the bleeding and give the Cats a fighting chance in the top of the 7th. The Cats began their rally behind 3 straight walks from Chuck Caputo, Ethan Rendulic and Ian Trott. AJ Segarra and Cam Seabol would both ground out, each scoring a run, leaving the score at 5-2. The red hot Lucas Lybarger would rope a double to left field, scoring another. Ben Hudson singled, advancing Lybarger to 3rd. Ray Altmeyer's patience at the plate led to a HBP, loading the bases once more. Jimmy Knapton then singled, scoring yet another run. Chris Rendulic, missing time due to his duties as a full time accountant, would reach on error, leading to 2 more runs scoring and giving the Cats the lead for the final time. Rendulic would score on a passed ball, adding 1 more run to the cause. Allegheny Vision made a final push, and loaded the bases on 3 walks before the Cats turned a double play to end it. Lybarger and Caputo led the Cats with 2 hits each.
